How did you guys discover Neopets?

I was wandering the internet and clicked on a banner ad at the top of a page. And that was it. I was hooked! That was 2002. And then I told a whole bunch of friends who also joined but only two still play now. :-) It's crazy when you really sit and think about it. lol

My dad introduced me to neo, the story-writing bit because his work colleague's daughter wrote stories for there and he suggested I could too as I was budding young writer :D

When I was around nine or ten, my brother's friend introduced Neo to my brother. I wasn't paying attention to what they were doing at first, but eventually, I was watching them playing the original versions of Pterattack and Swarm, and I decided to sign up when I got on the computer. Been on and off since 2001.

In grade 5, during computer time, a lot of my friends were on it. So I went on it. Granted, I forgot my username/password... Over and over again. But hey! XD That was about 9 years ago. My main account I think is about 7 years old though? XD

I had really enjoyed playing with Tomagotchi and similar key chain pets when I was younger. In April 2000, a few years since they were popular, I decided to Google "virtual pets" in hopes that I would find a website that offered the same fun. I came across Neopets and have been playing ever since :) littrell23

Your story is nearly identical to mine! *LOL* I was in computer class in 1999/2000 and a friend told me about it. I created my first pet, a Tigren! Does anyone remember those?? I was addicted to the amusement park and hide and seek games ;) Anywho, once school was over for the year I couldn't play as we didn't have dial up at home XD (I'm dating myself *lol*). I forgot my username etc. when school started up again. Next year my parents finally got internet and after much trial and error I got back in only to discover that my beautiful Tigren had been turned into, *gasp*, an Acara!! I thought it was ugly at the time so I started a new account with a better username and then got my sisters hooked!

A couple of my Aunts were playing constantly and convinced me to check it out. I don't have as much time to play anymore but when I do I definitely still enjoy it.

My friend first introduced Neopets to me way back in elementary school. I played for a couple of months and quit for 7 years. I recently started playing again on the same account. (:

It was when I was ten or eleven and I got a kougra toy in my happy meal, and I saw the little neopets tag, and looked online to see if it was a real thing. From then on it pretty much took over my life, lol.

I overheard a couple of friends talking about neo and decided to check it out. I got hooked but then schoolwork took over and I didn't play for a while. I tried to play again a few years later but I couldn't log in because you needed your bday to log in (and I'd put a false one). A couple of years after that I managed to find the bday I used (annoyingly, by then, you didn't need it) and have been hooked ever since.

I honestly don't actually remember how I came across the site but I'm fairly sure it was just me searching around and coming across it and began playing.

I was 12 when I had first heard about it. I recall virtual pets were still sort of popular at the time and I REALLY wanted to go onto Neopets. It seemed like all of my friends were playing it! xD I even recall who first told me about it.

 

We didn't have a computer at the time but when we finally had one, I instantly created an account and was hooked. :)

I heard about it when I was 8. That was when I first created my account. It had around 25000NP when I lost the password. Then I created more, much more. I'm an on and off Neopets player.

Now I have fixed account. I don't think I'll ever forget my password, but I can't say. I then found out that many of my other friends played too.

I remember being in the school library aged about 12 and seeing two of my classmates on this strange site! I ended up creating an account, wondering what all the fuss was about and...

 

The rest, as they say, is history!! :D

In fourth grade back in like 2005 mcdonalds had these neopets toys

and I got a Red Gelert and it had a website on the little paper that came with it.

I checked it out when I got home and fell in love with it.

Well, way back when I was a wee little kid, my friend introduced me to faerie bubbles. I got really addicted to playing it, and then I realized, oh wait, it's on a site called neopets! So I made an account (which I started sharing with my friend, becuase we were young and dumb). We lost interest in it after a couple of months, but then for some reason, I suddenly remembered our account and tried to log in, but I forgot the password, and used a fake birthday, so I made another account. My friend made her own account too, because it was summer, and there was nothing to do. Soon, most of my other friends were on neopets too. However, after summer ended, we stopped playing again. Then, in 2006, I was going through my old emails, when I suddenly stumbled upon neopets again. Of course, by then, none of my friends played anymore, but I wanted to see how my pets were doing. Once AGAIN, I was birthday-locked out of my account (guess I never did learn), so I made another account, my current one, and have been on neopets on-and-off ever since (It's my first account that I've done anything other than play games on XD)

I love reading about how people got into Neopets!

 

I was in 10th grade (so... 2002? I think?), I was babysitting my neighbor who was in 5th grade and she had me set up an account and showed me everything there was to do... I was hooked!!! Then I quit playing for awhile, got back into it in college (in like 2005) , then quit again for a few years (in 2007), then my younger sister started playing again (in 2011) and I decided to see if my account was still there... thankfully it was and so was my 700,000 nps I had saved up! :)

 

Now I am more addicted than ever thanks to all the new features and site events and Neocash and customization. Plus I got my fiance into it and he is obsessed as well. I feel like being older has made me a much better player than before haha.
