Guest Levy Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 But if the ads don't load... doesn't the amount of money vary on how many hits the ads get? Quote
Ellie_Penguin Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 But if the ads don't load... doesn't the amount of money vary on how many hits the ads get? If people click, Ian gets more money. But, if they don't, he gets money for running them only. Quote
Xepha Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Anyway... one thing is sure when somebody clicks on these ads, Xepha isn't getting money XD lol Quote
Ellie_Penguin Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I believe the money is only for the site maintenance use... Quote
Xepha Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 but... who knows? I think it's something we shouldn't debate anyway. *throws cookies on the board* ;D Quote
Guest Levy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Anyone wanna see a Neko avatar I found? Its a product of one of my random searches, I don't even remember what I typed in. Quote
antiaircraft Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 That looks familiar somehow... I wonder how many clicks it would take to make Ian a millionare? Quote
Guest Levy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 ALOT!!! ...is my answer to that question. Quote
antiaircraft Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I wonder if I could write a program that 'clicks' on the ads, say, five hundred times a minute? That would help TDN quite a bit I think, but still, there has to be a law against it somewhere. Quote
Guest Levy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 First of, it would have to be individual hits. One per IP Address. And I don't think there is a law like that. Quote
The Original Luna Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 And it just sounds stupid. That amount of computers would be take years to make that much money. Quote
Guest Levy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I agree, Ian probably only gets like 5 cents a hit. Quote
The Original Luna Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 How much is that in pound/Euro? Quote
antiaircraft Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 If I randomised the IP addresses that would be 500*5 cents a minute = 5 dollars a minute. Run the program for a day and that's a lot... Anyway I'm just being random. Quote
The Original Luna Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Ok, how much is a Dollar to a pound? (I know about interest etc) (anyone know the current rate?) Quote
Guest Levy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I don't think you have the ability to make a program like that. <_< Quote
antiaircraft Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I personally don't, but people have made programs that searched the same thing on Google thousands of times. Quote
Guest Levy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 To Antiaircraft: Sounds like a waste of time. Quote
The Original Luna Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 What's a waste of time? I'm confused! Quote
Guest Levy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 He just said that some people make programs to repeatably search Google for the same thing, which I don't see a purpose to do so. Quote
The Original Luna Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Yeah- why not just make an ad to bring REAL people there instead. Quote
Kal Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Just throwing this out there, But perhaps you could use something like The Onion Router and have the program constantly refresh the connections? That way you're output computer would be different each time, making it have a new IP everytime? I doubt it'd work fast enough to let you click that many times a minute, but it would raise the click rate a fair amount... My God.. this is random chat indeed! Quote
The Original Luna Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I've heard of stuff like that- But Onion router? Quote
