-Ryan Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 High chool isn't just another popularity contest is it? I'm tired of preps running the school. <.< Quote
Nad Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 It somewhat is, though I found it easily to tune them out. xP I skipped on the softball to make sure I did since two sports (did volleyball and basketball) will them all was good enough. Hehe. I did track, though some cheereaders also did and they irritated me when they thought themselves in need to loose weight. :| It's like, you're kidding, right? But I also did band and academic decathlon, so yeah. It was easy to tune them out and think of something else. xP Quote
-Ryan Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Good, Chess club shall be my mute button then. I'm such a loser. xD And was track fun? Everyone at my school says it is. Quote
Tyler. Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 i play sports for my school, but im not rude like half the guys who do Quote
-Ryan Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 At my school they're not just rude. I really wouldn't mind them if they were just rude. Quote
Nad Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hehe. xP Chess Club, if it makes you happy, then it's all good. :] And track is fun. I couldn't do it senior year and was sad, but it was more my parent's choice than myself. My team was rather close to one another, so yeah. Was fun, even though the meet was pretty long, but there are a lot of down time. *nods* I'm not rude either. :] I wouldn't be able to sleep if I was, I think too much. xP Quote
Masaryk Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 As I said, I liked high school. You get to meet lots of new people. I went to a different high school than the rest of my grade 8 class, so it was completely like starting over for me. Sure, there were still lots of snobs, but there were also lots of other people too. I didn't have too much trouble finding some other nerdy headbangers to hang out with. Plus, there's lots of extra stuff to do, like band and clubs. Quote
Divya Bean Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 People at the high school that I will be going to say that the peole who popular in ms are not popular in hs. It is the people who are friends with everybody who are "popular.". I hope that it is actually like that. Quote
-Ryan Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 That'd be nice. Some of my friends are like that and i'd love to see them get away from our made-fun-of-constantly group. I love it when people attempt to "emotionally hurt" me but they're not as good at coping and I don't like seeing my friends hurt. Quote
Wembly Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Sadly, although people try to tell you otherwise, high school then college and yes even life afterwards is generally speaking the same way. People always want to popular, or liked or in with the people of influence, whether its the people with a lot of friends or later in life people with the most money or the best cars or whatnot. I find the trick is always be true to yourself and be confident in who you are, it will never steer you wrong. Quote
Quark Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 High school was...interesting. You'll probably meet A LOT of different people. Friends came in and out of my life very suddenly. One week I would be hanging around with someone constantly and the next it was with someone else. I made some really solid friends though, lots of geeky ones and we hung out in the library and in a deserted wing after school. Honestly, what I loved most about high school were the teachers I met. I learned so much about myself through some really helpful adults that got involved in my life. High school was a pretty rough period for me since there were a lot of deaths in my family and some personal health problems, but I suppose all together it was an experience to carry with me. I just started college, so we'll see how that is. :P So far I haven't made any friends, but that's probably due to me being very introverted. Don't be afraid to talk to your teachers! I had three that I was very close to that changed my life forever. They have the knowledge to help you grow. MAN, how cliched was this ENTIRE post!? Haha. o_O Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I REFUSE to talk to my Math teacher. I messed up on one test, and now I'm a baby to her. Jhudora is pink? Hmmm...I had no idea. She was evil being the cause of the Altador Plot. And shes a faerie. I'm talking about the team being too girly and pink. Which is why I still loved killing them. Quote
antiaircraft Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Whatever you may think of the team's look, Faerieland's supporters are among the finest, most dedicated, most spirited examples of true Altador Cup sportsmanship that I have ever encountered. ;) As for high school... I kinda rocketed through it to be honest, and while I met some great friends, I guess I really don't have as much to share on it as you guys. *lol* I simply love TDN's coverage! but sometimes I wish that there will be more detail about Maraqua. We focus on teams that performed in a noteworthy manner for our reports. ;) In today's case, that team was... *hint* *hint* Trip to Malaysia = innactive, CAV. Welcome to my home country! How do ya like it? And ... DOOM Corp.? :laughingsmiley: Typographical error. Please disregard. Quote

And i'm assuming there's alot of inernet connection there if you're online so... @CAV: CC might be able to stay active here and possibly join, although you might've already peiced that together... Nad Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I so agree, Quark, about not being afraid to talk to teachers. It's good to maintain a good relationship since you could ask for a letter of recommendation from them and they'll definitely have something good to say. I was kind of seen as a teacher's pet. They were a bit more lenient with me than with some of the other students, though I rarely did anything wrong. xP I feel so old now. xP I was talking to one of my hs friends and she told me that my bff from hs was like married and with a kid. I hadn't seen her in like roughly 2 years, so I wasn't aware. But when I hear people my age are married and with kids, it kind of makes me nervous because I know I probably won't want that kind of life until my later 20s...my bff was a year older than myself, but a year is still not a long time. -Ryan Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Yeah CAV, I quite enjoy things that are girly and pink like making things explode and watching football all day. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 What did girly and pink ever do to you? :laughingsmiley: I'm a guy. Guys aren't suppose to like pink and girly things, it's law. CS, you dissipoint me. Quote
-Ryan Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 What, we can't have a feminine side? Personally I find half the things stereo-typed to the male gender as savage. Although, I do find a good football game enjoyable. ;) Quote
Tyler. Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I do have a bit of a feminine side, admittedly :* The male stereotype is full of things and ways i would never do/act Quote
-Ryan Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Exactly, Tyler ees my point. -Nod- I gotta go now. Be back soon to finish this conversation. Quote

I am grossed out by certain things, but then again, everyone is. Quote
-Ryan Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Yay! CAV, that is the best thing you have ever said to me! Finally, another guy who hates sexism! My whole school is run by it. Dx -Hugs in a manly fashion- And CAV, we really need to go to the debate section more. Me and you could argue for hours it seems. We need some sort of weekly debate. xD Quote

Between the arguments that I've had with Alcohol and that Text Message Attack, I would get very angry and want to punch my laptop screen. So I'm staying away from there for now. Quote
