Kookykat1018
So your mom tells you you spend too much time on Neopets? You can never spend enough time on Neopets. Neopets teaches you HTML coding, responsibility for your pets, and persuasive writing skills. Ever since I started playing Neo, I have gotten into HTML coding and might even use the skill as a career. My English grades have gone up, and I really enjoy taking care of my pets and chatting with others online. Neopets is good for you!!
Angeló
it is very good for stress relief ... at least that's why I still play it :)
Jessicar
Yeah stress relief is a major benefit. Also being able to escape from the outside world for a few hours (or days :D)
twilightprincess922
I've also learned alot from Neopets; HTML gave me a pretty A+ in Input Tech, and I've also learned how to make goals and stick with it. :)
shandosaurus
It helps you avoid doing anything you are really supposed to be doing, and enjoying not doing those things! Haha
bataclops
I actually use the games as a quick break since most of them don't take more than a few minutes to play. When I'm working on something at the computer if I make some progress I often play a quick flash game and I'm ready for more work after just a quick little break! April
My personal argument against my parents has always been.... "At least this hobby of mine can't get me into trouble. How many 17 year olds do you see playing on a harmless site as opposed to going out partying (which I never do) or going on websites and giving lots of personal information?" That's basically it. It keeps my occupied and has been great for my roleplaying which I've gotten into. It's also helped me to learn English a lot better. Taught me HTML. And is a great stress reliever and a place to hide out.

Bernard
well, guess i am not the only one that neopets taught me HTML, scoring high A's (98, 99, and 100's) in 3 consecutive years for info tech: digital media classes at school. My english hasn't really improved, but it helped me out with creatively editing/designing pictures that i use. :P
Aalnius
no offense but html won't really get you very far nowadays if you look at the sources for most webpages you'll see large amounts of javascript or flash and very little html but any skill is good, i understand what your saying about the benefits of neopets though i am constantly arguing with people about how video games provide more benefits then most other past times, such as improved memory, hand eye coordination, social skills etc.
chibi_chibi_tsukino
Honestly, I learnt A LOT on Neopets. Especially about how a market economy works (Neopets is a market economy with all the shops, etc). I learnt about how and why prices go up and down, how the number of players effects everything etc. This came in surprisingly handy for my Business degree - I was able to understand much more of what they taught me at uni thanks to Neo! Every time they would teach a new concept I would have an example from Neo in mind and that really helped me to understand things.
