Piticent
so, is it against the rules to be lent from somebody, then give them np or an item as a gift? As in, not part of an agreement or collat... Just as a thx gift.
Xepha
You are not supposed to do that. And the person who receives the present is supposed to reject them. That's what someone who follows the rules would be doing.

Angeló
i dont think giving gifts is against the rules ... as long as you wait a reasonable amount of time before doing it (so TNT won't get suspicious) ... asking for Tips , Gifts , NP's however is against the rules ... Piticent
well, that I knew...it's just, giving them an unexpected thank you gift, that's what I was wondering about. After all, I am a generous person :)
summertwinkle
Giving a gift should not be a problem. I gifted maybe >50 items to someone trying to get a pack rat avatar. I think if you do gift, please also send a neomail saying why you're gifting and such. I always do that when I gift to strangers (usually not for lending though). That should also dispel TNT's suspicion of any np earning on lending on the lender's side. I only don't attach a neomail if they're my close friends :) I've been gifted once just because that other person like what I said and did on the board. I refused at first but they were insistent. That sort of exchange by neomail should be evidence enough that the gift is a gift and not a fee (just make that clear).
