behati
Is there any documented effort with obtaining this avatar via brute methods? (Just plain ole making your wishes with neopoints) --if you look on jellyneo's compiled data on the wishing well avatar as well as it's hints (http://www.jellyneo.net/?go=projectwishingwell) and read through all the editorial questions the most outstanding concrete clues are: 1] nothing to do with items 2] is not seasonal 3] is definitely a neopoint sink and is very straight forward 4] dragona hints 6 and 7 5] something we can obtain despite having used up our wishes 6] it is active and obtainable all the other hints go toward throwing neopoints into the wishing well, and it just repeats over and over about throwing neopoints in there so I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried or have seen someone attempt to crack the mystery by just donating neopoints like 1.. 2..3...4... etc? nevermind I found it: http://www.sunnyneo.com/wishingwellproject.php rich neopians lets dooo this -otherwise please close thread, there's not much for discussion Edited July 22, 2011 by behati

Tank Girl
It'll be aaaages before anyone figures this one out! I remember someone saying Chef Bonju took something like two years! :O
Nika
For what it's worth I had my wish granted (got a bag of peanuts) about 2 weeks ago, and didn't get the avatar. I'll donate to the project, but I'm afraid it's probably more than 100k np, or that you have to be carrying certain items at the time you donate. It has to be more complicated than just straight donating, right?
behati
they did say it was very straight forward in the editorial questions, and they keep suggesting that everyone should come together and "throw money at it" it's definitely not more than 99,999 np because that's the max you can donate to the wishing well. I wish they gave us a better hint. it's driving me nuts.

Of course they're going to say that, it's a NP sink! haha I reckon it's a certain phrase or item that you have to wish for :P

Dcoolb
I made a topic about it on JN and someone posted this: JN confirmed it has a conection with the number 7 on JNCON.And apparently, TNT has stated that the solution is SIMPLE. So it is 7... I hate this dumb avatar. It sucks... But the number 7 is so not helpful...
queensorchadragon
There was an earlier hint of 6 also wasn't there? EDIT: oh i'm stupid, I need to read all the other posts as well XD sorry!
Parry
I've been thinking about this, and I dunno if this theory's been tested before, but... Has anybody tried donating 6 or 7 NPs whilst having an (Island) Krawk as their active Neopet? My reasoning is thus: as far as we're aware, the avatar is an NP sink, TNT say we're overthinking the solution, and it's somehow connected to numbers 6 and 7 (or just 7). The Wishing Well TCG shows the reflection of an Island Krawk, and there are 7 NPs at the bottom. If that IS the right way to get the avatar, then a, the solution really has been staring us in the face for ages, and b, it would be a NP sink in that it would cost MASSES to get the Krawk and an Island Paint Brush. I thought a np sink was when the nps just "disappeared." If that is the case then this idea is not a NP sink because the NPs just go to other users for the Krawk potions and petpets and the PBs. Also the point of having NP sinks is to make items like PBs more affordable. I don't think they would purposely inflate the price of Island PBs like this. I don't think this is right. I wish I had ideas...

I wish I had ideas... I suppose so, but bearing in mind that the cheapest way to get an Island Krawk would be to buy a Krawk Morphing Potion and an Island PB, that would mean you're 15-20mil out of pocket. That's still a hefty drain of NPs, no matter which way you look at it. Although, when the Bonju avatar solution was finally discovered, didn't Gourmet Cooking For Your Pet's price inflate like crazy? I know prices have since dropped, but they're still on the verge of being unbuyables.
Alexandra Puppyblew
Yes, you might be out 15-20 mil but they are still out in the economy (whomever you bought the morphing potion from has them). That was my point. And unlike the Bonju av, TNT said in an editorial that the Wishing Well av is definitely a NP sink. A sink takes NPs out of the economy. With less NPs in the economy the prices for items drops (which would also include the gourmet book). BTW, I just finished rereading some of those editorials about the WW av, and one of them said it was like the Lever of Doom. So I really just think you need to donate NPs. I think we just need to find the magic number. Also does anyone know if there is a limit to how many times you can wish at the well?
tempdisplay
This is a tricky one. When it's discovered, we'll all be like "Ohhhh". I'd wished for a couple of stuff in case and to get the items but nothing yet.
Izzasaur
Well all the accounts that tested whether the avatar was activated were accounts with nothing on them. Test User 40 and Test User 41 So I don't think it's something requiring huge amounts of Neopoints, because where would they get the neopoints? They haven't played many games. :/
xSummer
i think they mean the wishing well is the np sink, not the avatar, because it kind of is because everyday people give neopets to it to get the avatar and because nobody know how to they spend a bunch of money aka sink
Angeló
in today's NT Editorial .. they said we are way over-thinking it
behati
well does anyone have an island krawk to test it out with? =< I don't think it's a pet OR item requirement because if you check the test accounts, neither of them have krawks... I mean sure they could have changed it but I doubt they are that meticulous. the fact that they keep telling us we're over thinking it, definitely makes me think it's a certain NP donation amount. the test accounts have nothing in common except that they were last seen and created on the same day =<
Alexandra Puppyblew
the fact that they keep telling us we're over thinking it, definitely makes me think it's a certain NP donation amount. Yes, exactly. Plus they said it was not unlike the Lever of Doom. With Lever of Doom all you do is give neopoints. Ugh, I just hope it's not random. I don't like those avatars. Tiff
Maybe you have to have 76 neopoints and put in 7 neopoints, or have 67 neopoints and put in 6 neopoints? Since Dragona hinted that it has to do something with the numbers 7 and 6.
Alynniae
On jellyneo, they've got a page about this. And TNT said in one answer that it wasn't item-related, that was in issue 456 and question #
Squidmama
I can't wait until its figured out! XD I bet its something super easy that just under our noises. Maybe it is like the Master Chef one where it has nothing to do with The Wishing Well itself.
StarryEyed502
Interesting point in the Sunnyneo page; they reckon the Wishing Well only accepts the first 7 wishes in a day. Wonder if this is the 6/7 that Dragona was referring to?
