In the consolation bracket....ALTADOR won a game of YYB????? The biggest shocker of the whole tournament! Well maybe not...I still say it was Moltara beating Krawk Island in YYB. So this one YYB win and near sweep of Moltara let's Altador leverage it's prodigious SS track record into not-last-place. If Moltara can make a big win this final day, it can scrape its way to 17th, otherwise things aren't looking so good for them.

In Tier 4, Faerieland pulls a surprising near sweep of Kiko Lake, considering Kiko Lake is starting to emerge as a sidegaming force. They even took SOSD from the top ranked KL! It's starting to look like FL is taking 15th. In the battle for 13th, Lost Desert takes YYB on the first day, leaving them in good standing to win over Mystery Island, especially if they can just clinch YYB this last day.

In Tier 3, the battle for 11th is looking like it'll go to HW since they beat BV. To all the Shenkuu supporters here, I'm sorry but RI nearly swept you guys. Still, no matter what happens your team will be improving upon last year's 11th place finish.

In Tier 2, unfortunately my beloved Terror Mountain got swept by the Citadel. It's sad that my team won't rise above 8th (short of sweeping the Citadel on this last day), but this year has been a huge breakthrough for us since we've consistently ranked in Tier 2 throughout the whole tournament with the occasional glimpse of Tier 1. Meridell clobbered Tyrannia on this first day of the 5th place battle.

Tier 1!

Things are looking good for Kreludor to take 3rd since they nearly swept Maraqua.

And for the match everyone's looking at.....Virtupets stormed to an early lead with a near sweep on Krawk Island. One more YYB win and they clinch the victory, leaving the field open for another team (DC, RI, HW, LD) to win twice before Krawk Island.

We're almost done folks...let's all make that last push for our teams!

i won't be sad if we lost .. after all ROO ISLAND is a former champion and still a powerhouse of sorts :)

and 10th is still better than last year's 11th :D

.......we'll come back next year :)

Disapointing results.

I want SK to win just because I hate seeing a powerhouse get kocked down like that. RI used to be a powerhouse too but... I just prefer SK.

Also, I was really hoping AL would be the first team to ever go a full season without a single YYB win.

Then theres KD winning against Maraqua.

On the brightside though -

KI wont be the first team to win twice unless they sweep tomorrow.

Meridell is gonna beat Tyrannia.

HW will win against Brightvale who I really dislike.

FL is beating KL. Another team I dislike.

LD is beating MI.

Im a Darigan Deserter so LD is my second favourite team.

Oh and, tbh... This is the third time weve had to compete for 7th place and since the only way TM will win is through a sweep... I dunno. I just cant be excited about 7th place. I know i'm taking tier 2 for granted but... Its just really disapointing after we got 3rd last year.

However... We will lose A LOT OF FREELOADERS now. I mean were used to freeloaders, we've always had more than any other team but... This year was just crazy. Next yar though, we'll still have the freeloaders that join because out team just looks cool, but more importantly we'll have all our old dedicated players, plus the new ones like Leaf and Cytos that we picked up this year and i'm very happy to be playing with.

I'm hoping Terror Mountain finds some of that luck too. Hopefully TM's slow uptick in the rankings and burgeoning clout as a sidegaming force will inspire new potential All Stars to our cause (minus the freeloaders of course). Our incredible SOSD record last year opened the floodgates (I like to believe) and while I don't mind doing time in the second tier, developing our skills, I hope one day to see us win that cup. I'm not gonna be one of the 'roving All Stars'; I'm sticking by my team.

Owww. Doesn't look hopeful for a top three placement :/

That sure seems like it, I am quite disappointed...at first I thought we can at least get a third place, but things don't look so good now...

I guess I'm a freeloader, but I'm not leaving DC. Even if I don't play hundreds of YYB and thousands of side games, I still enjoy playing for the team once in a while. :P

Now we just gotta wait for the final results and the prize shop :O

Well you shouldn't be too disappointed. Maraqua wasn't always a powerhouse team and for the last couple ACs, they had to settle for 5th. Now you guys have made it into the First Tier and improved on your past performance! I'm disappointed too that my Terror Mountain will most likely finish in 8th, but considering where we used to be, it's a breakthrough for us.

I wish MQ could make it to top three at least once! It is a good team, hard working and supportive. there is a lot of talk about mercenaries jumping in and playing for a team, I hope that isn't the case. Oh well, next year maybe...

Anyone else staying up until midnight to see the results? I am! It was nice that they actually announced that the results would be late this year (for those who haven't played before, it felt like an eternity before they posted the results). I want to see a brand new champ (the first team to have a repeat better be either Lost Desert or Darigan :P) so I'm rooting for Virtupets! And Kreludor, you better get third.

As for the discussion about freeloaders, our performance this year is sure to weed out an insane amount of weak players. I mean, you'd think after all these years of the fact that a winning team never repeats would get people to pick another contender (read: Shenkuu's pseudo-curse). But hey, I guess people who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it, as the saying goes.

I don't think it's going up at midnight, it's probably going to be Noon NST like it's been for years past.

Still...I'm with voteforpedro. It's like being a kid on Christmas...you know all the cool stuff isn't until later, but you fervently hope to get to it ASAP. :P

has anyone seen a Roo Island supporter in TDN?

nop

ive only seen Darigan (most) .. Shenkuu .. Maraqua .. and a couple Faerieland and LD supporters .. oh and one Krelduan , one TM and one VP :)

Ah! I came to see when the results are expected to be up. Noon NST...that'll be near my bedtime. The timezones giveth, and the timezones taketh away. ^ ^ ah well, at least I can stop checking so frequently now.

As for the freeloaders thing...yeah...you'd think they'd look at the patterns rather than just going with what worked the year before. Infact, I was quite surprised at the expectations presented in that TDN article before the tournament started. It's not like real life where the same tried and true athletes/coaches are there. A good performance last year means a bad one the following year.

I'm probably a freeloader, but I've only ever played for DC, and I just don't live on Neopets or for Neopets. By the way, what kind of base stats would you say defines a non-freeloader?

I believe so.

By the way, has anyone seen a Roo Island supporter in TDN? I haven't seen one the whole time I was here.

One of our AC Staffers, Lydia1310 is a Roo Island player.

Hmm. I'd say someone that doesn't make it to Rank 1 on a team that was in the Top 8 the prior year is a freeloader. But I'd forgive anyone that has a serious schedule in their real lives. Honestly we can't expect people to give up time and sleep for this. However, the people that do have earned my respect.
