*send some snow to Livvy* *tosses in some really cold temperatures as well, to make sure it doesn't melt*

:D Snow! *strategically places it around district office* And now they can cancel school here too.

They used to close the school when it was too cold...

maily because they had a hard time to start the bus to get all the students in time :P

But yea, if it was -40C, no school. Happened once or twice per winter XD

30 degrees Celsius here in Bintulu, although it feels like 35.3 - much colder than usual. It's even colder back in Kuching though.

But hey, even cold days are nice and toasty here in the tropics. :P *leans back in beach chair*

:laughingsmiley: Theo, that reminds me... My husband (Who lived in Florida for nearly all his life) loves snow/cold etc. He's always whining it doesn't snow enough, or get cold enough. He called me today and goes, "I've never been so cold in my life." I was like, I'm sorry. And there a pause, then all of a sudden, "IT'S SO AWESOME!!!" :laughingsmiley:

xD That sounds like fun.

I was born in Malaysia, grew up in New Zealand, and am now living in Malaysia again. So yeah, I guess I'm a slightly odd mix. :P

He was born in Connecticut, moved to Los Angeles, then to Florida before he was a year old. And he lived in Florida from 1 to 21.

I've lived in the same house in the chicago suburbs all my life...

WHO WANTS SNOW PICTURES?!

storm-flast-1.jpg

Here you can see the amount of snow right in front of you...

Here is the snow about 5 inches away

storm-dark.jpg

There's usually SOME light from the stars and city at this time of night, but all you see is grey, or in this picture, black. Also, that's the house two doors down... and the houses are very close together here... so yeah... witha light, about 7 yards, without 1 yard at the lowest, windiest points.

I slowly reduced the flash so you could comprehend the visibility, which I'd estimate at 5 yards :)

I'll post more pictures and updates tomorrow morning after I get to shovel at least a foot of snow (it snowed 5 inches in two and a half hours, at estimate, since all the snow is blowing everywhere).

Co, that looks fascinating. The closest thing we get to snow here in Malaysia is the occasional (very rare) vicious hailstorm. xD

@Co's lovely photography: SNOW!! *pounces*

I've lived in the same messy house in SC all my life. And let me tell ya, SC is one boring state.

*sends Livvy some more snow* We don't have much to spare, but we have plenty of cold to spare. (It's -11 this morning, with a wind chill of nearly -30.)

Posted

Well, we have 2-4 feet of snow in the drifts, and more is falling, I went to a point on our driveway and was up to my chest in snow, we can't shovel this away.

Posted

Wow. That's crazy. My husband would absolutely love that, but I'm glad we don't have that here.

Is it that good? xD I thought it was bad, since you coudn't see anything :P

It's good because it's artistic. You could use it as a pattern or a brush or base any kind of design around it. So it's definitely cool.

Try to carry about camera as much as possible and take pictures of everything and anything you find interesting. It always come handy, if not for yourself... then for others if you put them on flicker or other places XD

And campus is closed Thrusday too! This time to conserve power and keep people off the icy, icy roads.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A FRIENDLY COMPETITION!
