I recently came back to Neopets and discovered the wonderfulness that is the Random Contest, and I wanted to share my creations with some people that might actually be interested, haha. I started with the "Plot Drama" one, designing a poster for a Faerie's Ruin movie; I got third place with this entry: And then for the "Cuddly Characters" one I decided to make a Jazan plushie (because he's totally BA). Unfortunately I don't have a camera so I had to make do with my crappy webcam, but I got first place! I'd never made a plushie before, and it was so much fun! So I decided that Jazan needed a companion, and I (of course) made a Nabile plushie. I again used felt, stuffing, a bit of fabric, and hot glue for this one, with the addition of some tulle for the sleeves/pant legs. Here they are together. They're such a cute couple. :) And because I clearly can't get enough Jazan+Nabile, for the latest contest I did a portrait of Jazan on his birthday. (Although is he really a villain? Hmm...) I probably should wait to post this until after the contest ends, but oh well. Nabile insists he blows out the candle, Jazan is displeased, and a Polaroid captures the moment (which Nabile then writes on with a pink gel pen :P). I'm not too thrilled with it, but I figure it's not too bad for about 4 hours' work, and I very rarely draw on the computer. My notable one was a poster for the Altador Cup, in which I featured Maraqua (of course)! Of course the plushies are cool too but I am fixated on the painting since its for the current contest. I love looking at the random contest entries, especially the food ones, they look so delicious. I've entered twice but not won yet. I made a plushie and poster too. I was thinking about trying this contest too but I'm not really a great artist and I don't really paint, only cartoon drawings and such, don't think I would really know how to make it an impressionist drawing.
