Some people are evil

Todays editorial has just persuaded me that some people are downright malicious and evil:

 

Hey, TNT! *throws cupcakes* Recently, there has been an outbreak of people sending other users items like Turnip Tonic and telling them that it will heal their Neopet or something (when it really changes the color). There was an incident where somebody sent one user a Vengeful Scroll, hoping she would read it to her unconverted plushie Draik. When she did, the Draik was turned into a pink Lenny. This is against the rules, right? D: ~vemane

If you are lying to a person and telling them an item is for a different purpose than its original intent (in the hopes that they'll fall for a trick), then it is considered a scam. In the case you are referring to, the user contacted the victim and told her that he was sending books to help increase the intelligence of her Neopet. He then hid the colour-changing scroll among a stack of benign books. While we do encourage players to be cautious and generally hold themselves responsible for the loss of their items (or in this case, the colour of their Neopet), we also hold scammers accountable for their actions. In this case, the offender was frozen. There is a line between being malicious and scamming. This player happened to cross that line.

Wow. I can't believe that. It's horrible. I feel so bad for the person that had the UC Draik. I would hope TNT would do something about that.

It really does seem to be just really malicious, kind of - if I can't have it then neither can I...

That just makes me sick. Too bad there aren't real life punishments for something so evil like that (not including IP bans).

That's just so evil and sick and everything bad! :angry: What's the reason to do that? Maybe as a revenge for something I could somehow understand, but doing something like that for no reason?? :worried: I feel bad for that person, too.

But, that person with Plushie Draik, s/he must be playing Neopets enough long to know that's not true? Just saying.

Yes, I agree. Only a really horrible person would do something like that. Think of what they must be like in real life.

That's horrible! These people obviously need better things to do. I don't understand why someone would want to do that.

and then re-read the story.

I laughed a little sorry the name is just too fitting come on.

 

Anyway, this person should have known better to check everything they give to their UC neopet before giving it to them. Especially the more expensive items.

Yes, this person is evil, but the person should have checked what the item would have done as well.

Yes, they probably ought to have read it and checked what it was but it's the kind of stupid mistake I would have made.

I agree both that it's malicious and cruel and that people should have checked out the items first, especially if it's from a random stranger. I'm just thankful that i keep low enough profile that I haven't been harassed or anything about my uc pets..

 

and I was hoping that someone out there in the worldwide web had a list of items that change color/species that aren't obvious (like the example given in the editorial question)

I do agree though, I probably would have checked to see what those items did first (actually, I probably would have sold them! :laughingsmiley: )
