Podcasting Co-hosts?

Recommended Posts

I wasn't sure where exactly to put this, so I hope this is appropriate. I apologize in advance if it isn't. I was thinking. They're really aren't any current Neopet podcasts are there? It isn't like the material is lacking? There is plenty going on. So why no podcast? So I thought I would give it a shot. I know its probably a big request to make (especially since I'm an unknown on the forum, though no stranger to the actual site), but I was wondering if there is anyone who would be interested in co-hosting a Neopets based podcast. I have a fair amount of podcast experience from my time working with Mugglenet. So I have a reasonable amount of know-how. However any assistance that could be brought to the table beyond co-hosting would be greatly appreciated as well. Please let me know via reply to this topic, or email. I believe my email is visible on my account profile.

I'd love to help you write a podcast, but I won't talk. Most people say my voice sounds like a girl :*

It would be fun to use my supreme intellectual skills to help produce a podcast... or maybe I'm just in it for the free cookies- Wait, there are no cookies?!?!

Anyway, if you get along to making a podcast, and need a writer, I'd be glad to help.

Jumpingbeans: I'd love to have that kind of assistance. If you could gather information each week, or (if you have the know how) edit the site for the podcast, which will inevitably be made.

CAV the Viper: It would be more than just a voice you know, right? I'm sure you already are, but just in case. You would need to be up to date on the happenings in Neopia, in order to talk informatively, and of course you'd need to have a good attitude. I'm sure you posses these qualities already, I'm just covering my bases.

Everyone Else: I didn't mention this in the original post (carelessness), but if you want to be a host there are somethings you need to know first.

-You need to have the program Skype, and a working microphone with fair sound quality.

-You must be ready for each show before it starts and must be able to attend each show (obviously there can arise circumstances which would change that second part, but if you're going to be a host you need to be able to commit to recording each week you are able to).

-You must be able to record in a room with little to no background noise. We can't control all sounds that reach our microphones, but recording in a room with your screaming four year old brother is asking for trouble.

-Once we begin each show you MUST stay until the end.

I might be able to get a site ready, because I do know a bit about websites. It would have to be off another domain, because buying a website costs too much.

If you're going ahead with the podcast, I could start writing one tonight.

P.S. I do have skype, but I don't think I'd be able to do a podcast anyway.

I'm thinking about the ACV finals for the first podcast.

I don't have a microphone, I just have skype.

Oh well. I'm planning on being *behind the scenes* anyway.

So, HumpusWumpus, should I start on an Altador Cup conclusion for the first podcast?

I do have skype and I've done PodCasts before for the guilds. I'd love to be interested, but how would it all work out? We are all going to chat together and you're going to record it? Or is it going to be one at a time?

I did the one at a time with someone else. That was how she wanted to do it... Haha. Didn't end up well. xD

Sure thing JumpingBeans. Send me the information either to my email or neomail me. If I can't get dedicated hosts in time, I can always do the first broadcast myself. It may be a little dry, but its still a start.

Bloom: My experience with podcasts is that they function much better when presented as something of a talk show. We have information and topics each week, but its a kind of round table disscusion. So it wouldn't be each person recording on their own. It would be all hosts talking on the same call, and I'll use my equipment to record it and later edit it.

Nice. I'll definitely consider it. I'm taking a full load for summer school at the moment. So hopefully when things die down and depending on you would create the time of the talk show, I could participate. (: I love the suggestion. x)

Did you get your podcast up and running? We'd love to listen to it! Please let us know how to find it if it is online!

My best friend Wendy and I have a Neopets podcast and I'd love to chat with a fellow podcaster about podcasty things!

If you get a chance to listen to the show - let us know what you think. We are always looking for show ideas....

You can listen at: http://neochat.wordpress.com/ or on iTunes.
