Jikuu
OK, I'm confused now. I have a male Geode and female Guardian, and they will breed an egg or tell me "no interest". I finally got my desired pairing, a female Geode and a male Guardian, and I got the message that they refuse to go near each other. Now, I have the understanding that only certain pairings of dragons will not mate (like Split and anything else) and gender should not matter, but is there something here I should be worried about? -Ryan
I don't know. They might just really hate eachother. Maybe a family fued?
Anime
I had some misinformation up before, but... geodes will only produce with stones, pebbles, and other geodes. Anything else and they will refuse.
Jikuu
I had some misinformation up before, but... geodes will only produce with stones, pebbles, and other geodes. Anything else and they will refuse. Really? I've gotten some eggs from my Geode X Guardian pair. Guardian only, though. Granted, I can't prove them because they all died, but it did happen. I know that there is some information of Geodes reproducing with Guardians up on the Dragon Cave forum breeding list area. Did they change something in the recent past? Lauraaaaaaaaa.
Dragon cave :DD Click my eggs please, a lot of them have died :@ There's a lot of new eggs... what do they look like once they hatch?
Jikuu
OK, apparently, concerning my problem above, sometimes dragons just won't get along, thus they refuse to mate. So that's another dead dragon and another attempt. Here's the new egg. Drat. Thought I was finally done with that. Thanks.
-Ryan
I wanna start dragcave again but my egg cave eggs need CONSTANT attention. D:
Anime
Really? I'm mistaken then. I'll look into it more.
aykayy
im new to dragon cave and im soo lost o_O anyway, i think the first and fourth eggs are dying. idk for sure.. hahah. im gonna have to figure it out!
Anime
It seems there are 5 new eggs out. Since I wasn't around whent hey were eggs (oops) I don't have the descriptions. EDIT: Ok, went to a drop... This egg is slimy and blue. (I think this is the one that has male/female differences) This egg seems to be floating on a puddle. (Note: floating not sitting) This egg has strange yellow stripes. This egg appears to be covered in scales. And I seem to be missing one... EDIT2: It seemd egg #5 is another "strange markings" egg. Get um while they're hot?
Garrett*is*cute
Got the three new eggs. Add them to the viewing thread? The egg with the floating description really confused me. o.O
Jikuu
Darn, I missed the whole egg unveiling too. I blame grad school. *shakes fist* It's really nice seeing all this work that TJ and the other fans are cranking out. Oh, here's my new egg. Be female and like my Guardian, darnit! And I'm bored with my one project, so I'm gonna grab more eggs and do stuff. Here are some others. I'm not going to worry about the new eggs and just take the nice ones from previous releases. I really like Guardian dragons. ^.^
Garrett*is*cute
I managed to snatch another one of the new ones. Now I just need my dead egg to disappear from my scroll. xD
Jikuu
I somewhat dislike the "view lineage" option for a personal reason. I know it's a really great tool. But it showed me how badly my Guardian, Lucius Savant, is inbred. On both sides. With a great-grandfather-grandfather-father deal going on. I feel bad because I know it doesn't really matter, and I finally got his description approved, but I'm thinking about killing him, raising another male Guardian, and giving that new one the same name and description. Is this too extreme, and could I get the exact same description again for another dragon if the first one goes the way of the dinosaur? BTW, Anime, I LOVE your purple Dino. ^.^
Anime
You only have to wait a day before the egg slot isn't taken, and then only if it was killed by you. TIme outs and eggs past that are just there. Possible... there's also the more humane, "Release" option that removes the name form the dragon without killing it. But it's totally up to you. And thanks, silly thing fianlly grew up. xD
Jikuu
I'll opt for the release option. I totally forgot about it. Thanks. Oh, and I have another egg.
Anime
Updated the FAQ some. We have Water walkers (on a puddle), Waterhorses (blue), Horse dragons (purple), Neotropical (green), and Deep Sea dragons (scales).
-Ryan
I've decided the start playing Dragcave again. I grabbed some pretty eggs. :O
Ruto
Those deep sea dragons are crazy awesome. :O And pretty. I should make an army.
Jikuu
OK, one more time! Be female! Like my Guardian! Or you get... THE KNIFE!
Garrett*is*cute
My dragons have less than two days to live. :( They need more clicks.
Jikuu
Try using the ERs around the place for saving the eggs, such as eggswillbedragons.com and the related sites it links to. This should help save your dragons. EDIT: Rar, more eggs! I'm going to create my "orphanage", and that will probably use only cave-born eggs since I guess some folks might be miffed about their lineage being halted with freezing. And while it's not my egg, it was born from one of my dragons. Reinhilde's the kind of lady to want lots of kids around. And the fellow has it set to "accept aid", so I figure this is OK. Anime
Ok, bad news... Some idiot pointed out to our... dear... TJ09 that the water dragon descipt made more sense if they could breed with only waters and deep seas. So, without ANY warning (seriously, I went to breed one of my waterxgold couples and had no freakin clue why the water wasn't on my list) he changed it. Waters can breed with waters and water horses (but not deep seas. They can breed with anything but. Stupid, huh.). My poor Arinia and Arane... People on the DC forums are really mad, there's gonna be (another) uprising if it's not changed back.
-Ryan
Lolololol seriously? GO REPUBLIC! DOWN WITH THE CONFEDERACY! THE DROIDS SHALL PERSISH! WE WILL CONQUER AND DESTROY ALL WHO OPPOSE US! Er, sorry. Star wars overload. Well, I need to start reading there forums again. Dragcave is cool. xD
Jikuu
Yeah, I saw that bit as well. I can't say I'm particularly miffed on it, so I kinda don't see why it's bad since there are other restricted breeder pairs. Are there too many? EDIT: Ohhh! Yeah. The older water dragons. Yeah. I totally get that now. Um, sorry. That does suck. I'm kinda happy I have a great-great-granddaughter from your pairing now. It's worth preserving. RE-EDIT: I wish some of these guys would be more mature about it, though, especially towards the person who pointed it out to TJ09. There was no malicious intent, probably a simple inquiry, and it's not like s/he was changing stuff on his/her own. I do wish that TJ09 has said something first, though.
