Secre Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 It really depends what game you are talking about - but often it is by writng a phrase during the game like glubgar gets you an extra life in volcano run.

Masaryk Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 For most games with cheat codes, the code is typed in (sometimes very quickly) in the middle of playing the game. Others can be typed in at the beginning of the game or between levels. Some can even be partially typed in at the beginning of a game, then finished when needed (like Hasee Bounce). TDN has a list of cheat codes and when they can be used here.
