Jikuu
Cost of wedding: Marriage license: $93.50 Notary public: Free, because your husband's friend's mom is one That's it! I'm technically a wife now, though I'd kick him if he called me "wifey". ^^
Batman
Well congratulations on the marriage! That could be a very expensive day. :laughingsmiley:
Masaryk
Wow! Awesome! Congratulations! There's nothing quite like the inexpensive wedding. Mine cost me around $500, but I had to pay a wedding officiant and marriage licenses are more expensive where I live. Also included was the cost of food for our backyard barbeque bash. Seriously, though, I hope your day was every bit as special for the two of you as you had hoped. It's really nice to get to make it offical, even if it isn't entirely necessary (but it can be really helpful to have all of the legal benefits of being married). Best wishes to the two of you! hrtbrk
Congrats darling! We also didn't have a wedding. Thank you city hall! lol
Viridian
Hehe, I would prefer much more of a ceremony with friends and family myself, but I do understand that this is much cheaper! Congratulations! :)
Jikuu
With both of our folks being divorced, there was no way we expected them to get along for that long. I think it helps that neither of us ascribe to the fantasy wedding idea, and I am not a fan of dresses. Of course, everyone has their own individual tastes. Thanks for all the well wishes. Batman
Well that's understandable. I just have the huge Italian family and they won't pass on an opportunity to get together and party.

stephie23
congrats on the wedding. For mine I plan to do it on the beach somewhere :) I'm not a fan of the church weddings myself...
bd84
Congratulations on being a newlywed! Congrats on avoiding spending a small fortune for the sake of family and friends too. My family tends to do small ceremonies, but they still cost a small fortune! @_@ I can't imagine what some of the weddings I see on tv cost! stephie23
ugh some of the tv weddings are rediculous. I think the ceremony is something to do though. Its like highschool prom, if you don't do it you'll regret it ... but make it your own, wethere its a party in the backyard, a church, or a beach far away ... :)
Jikuu
I remember hearing about one wedding where the bride and groom sold advertisement space in order to fund the wedding. I think there were banners rather than the couple wearing NASCAR-like jumpsuits.
stephie23
lol thats hillarious! :) it would be so fun to wear nascar jump suits! :P I see a billion ads a day though, I dunno if I'd want to see a bunch at my wedding..
esther_
Congrats dear! I hope your day (and after!) was wonderful and full of memorable moments for you and your hubby!!! My bf of 8 years and I have been discussing getting married for quite some time now, but it will be a while for sure because I want to finish college first.I've never been the "Get married in a Church" thing...but my dream wedding would consist of an outdoor ceremony and my bridesmaid (one or two) and the groomsmen would all wear Red high-top Converse!! Whoot!
