Tamara
Okay. I asked this on the Pound forums a while back when it started, and no one could tell me exactly what was going on. So I'm here now to try and get an answer, because this is really bugging me. I have received 3 neomails, from 3 separate people asking to trade for 3 different pets that are NOT mine. I'm concerned. I've run virus scans on my computer and cleared my cookies, and I'm clean because none of my other accounts have received these neomails. I keep receiving these mails on my side account, blackgemini. You're the second person to Neomail me about a pet I don't even own. Where did you get my name from?? ticklish_smile replied: Someones petpage? sorry i cant remember the link I unfortunately deleted the first mail I got. They didn't reply to me when I asked them where they found my username listed with those pets. I replied to the girl asking for the Jelly Lupe and asked her if she could give me the link to the petpage where my name keeps being listed. Anyone have any information on this? This is very unsettling.
Xepha
I'd just ignore it... They are not your pets and you didn't make a page listing them either.

If you ignore the neomails you are getting, they will most likely stop mailing you.
Tamara
I think what bothers me the most is the fact that there is someone out there listing these pets with MY name on it. If the owner of these pets, who obviously aren't up for adoption, were to find the page - I'm going to be the first one to hear about it. I'm just scared that my user name being used like that is going to get my account frozen. :T Thats why I'm not ignoring this, and why I'm very concerned about it... Unstream
I don't think this is anything you should be worried about. It's probably a mistake on the pet list. Maybe the username was supposed to be something like black_gemini and they just missed the underscore. And anyway, I don't think you can get frozen for something like this. It's not like you're breaking any rules or anything.
Xepha
Or if you are really concerned about it, neomail the real owners of the pet and copy them the message you got, explaining the situation. Then it's not your problem to find out the page/site where they are coming from.

Then it's not your problem to find out the page/site where they are coming from. There's an idea. Guess I've become a little paranoid, considering how many things happen on Neopets (CGers, hacking, etc). I'll go ahead and do that if I get another message asking for a pet trade. Someone suggested some off site Neo Trade or something - so I might investigate that. Guh. Scary stuff. :T
Ashbash
That is very strange, I don't blame you for being a bit concerned, I'm sure I would be as well.

-Ryan
So did you nm the owners of the pets? If so what did they say?
Deepti M.
Wasn't there that whole thing about the neo-trades.com about people listing pets UFT or UFA when they weren't?
Tamara
Wasn't there that whole thing about the neo-trades.com about people listing pets UFT or UFA when they weren't? Yeah, some of my friends suggested that might be whats happening. However, that website is down and like I said - one of the girls replied and said they got the information from a petpage. -Ryan
Wasn't that Neotrades place mentioned in the editorial like 2 weeks ago? And wasn't someone complaining about that happening?
celticheavens
Is it possible (if the person really saw your username on a petpage) that the author of the petpage made an honest typo for the user? I don't think it's cgers if the neomail isn't overly suspicious ^^;;

blackcatmagic2003
That's a bit eerie; I can imagine why you are concerned. I hope it's really just a typo and an honest mistake, and that you'll find out what's going on.
Tamara
I got another neomail today for a trade on Ihum. This needs to stop. I really wish the people neomailing me would just TELL ME where they're finding this information!
Luciana
Is it a different person? Ask them where they got your name.
Tamara
Is it a different person? Ask them where they got your name. I've asked every single person who's mailed me, and none of them remember or reply to my question. I took the suggestion from the person at the top, and blocked neomails and friend requests on that account.

Luciana
Yea, it's kinda weird that every single person who neomails you forgets where they saw your name. :I
Maxine
That's very weird, you should neomail TNT... (if you can)

fastpitch41
I would try telling TNT and see if they can fix it.
