stephie23
Ah maybe thats what they want you to think !! :P lol. Its not too far of a stretch to think that they might have paid (but yes, there would def. be less of them)
Izzy ♥
Well, it won't give you a guarenteed lend *shrugs* And actually if you ask without having collateral, you're likely to get jumped on by a few of the less tactful members of Charter. There's a minority group who can be very nasty if a new face turns up and the first thing they ask for is a free lend. While the rest of us will be politer about it it won't endear you to the community at large either. Charter's a bit like a very large guild, and though its a lot bigger than when I joined, there is still a community feel among any of us who have been there for a while! There is a sticky thread - called the MSPP/SuAP Seekers board - for people who are looking to be lent those two avatars... when the lenders want to lend, they go there and see who wants to borrow. You get lent if you're known and respected in that board, they're an ever-growing group of regulars and the lenders can see who to trust and who not to. Of course if you're just generally known in the wider Charter community its a great deal easier lol The lenders are almost all Charter old-school, they'll know who is who among the more prominent members :P The same holds true for the regulars in any board though; the AC, the BDC - they all have their usual posters. If you post enough to be generally known and respected within that regular community, then you can find lends there too. Just being Premium or Charter isn't going to give you some magic key to getting super expensive avatars for free... unfortunately more and more people think that when they join thesedays >_< If all you want Charter for is free MSPP or SuAP lends, then I strongly advise against it. You'll be disappointed. I hear that "well I pay for Premium so of course I wouldn't risk my account stealing an avatar item" thing a lot... it doesn't stand up. There are still scammers, still people who think they'll be the ones to get away with it. Someone GUP'd another Charter's Draik on a chain lend a few months back; these things still happen! stephie23
See its the few bad seeds that spoil it for the rest of us! :( I love my account and would never risk it, but at the same time Im an aweful saver, so I have like no np (and apparently i stink at earning in general -- see big fail with bonju book). It just bugs me seeing like 1 month old accounts with SuaP. Assuming they aren't just a side to a big main (which they most likely are) ... why can they get it and I cant! :( I try and post on the regular neoboards, but I feel like I never make any lee-way and its a big giant waste of my time. (Plus i always seem to go to the boards where the leader is actually purposely wasting your time -_-) Here I can have conversations with people, and I enjoy coming... oh well. Now if only someone would donate SuaP or Mspp to TDN... (one can dream)
Izzy ♥
Charter is more like here than the regular boards are, thats true. Thats sort of what I meant about it being a big guild. Most of us have our groups of friends and boards that we frequent often... but because there are fewer people who can just drop into Charter, its easier to see the underlying community since those with access generally either frequent the boards often or not at all. I never said you need full collateral on the MSPP/SuAP Seekers boards; I only know one person who provide full collateral for SuAP (aside from the SuAP lenders, obviously). The main free lender of both has left - he said he hated feeling obliged to lend people just because they were Charter, or something like that - but there are others. However you'll have to become part of the community, so they know who you are and that you're there for more than just a free lend. Nothing ever comes without effort - whether that effort is in improving your account or in getting to know the community of someone who might lend you. I stand by what I said above though, it is possible to get lend via the AC or the BDC.
DiCe
I've heard about the Super Shop Wizard. It seems awesome. It'd be even more perfect if you got some NC every month. Just like a 100. After all, you're pretty much paying more then it's worth anyway I love the super shop wizard. A great way to make neopoints with it is to lookup an item worth over 50k, buy it at the lowest and sell it for a new lowest. You will often sell it for over 10k extra and those items sell within a few days :) The portal is also very nice. I love the option how it sorts my stocks. I always check my stocks on there. Anyway, if you love neopets and can miss a few bucks a month, I think it's a good investment for the game you love. If you want an invite, you can neomail me. Vixensykerd
Just a question, I want the neomail addict avatar, if I sign up then leave will I get the avatar, then have it taken away (like the referral avatar)? Or will it stay with me?
stephie23
No you get to keep the neomail addict avie. alternatively you can also get it by random when neomailing (I have yet to get it though).
Tre Le Coco
originally you had to send a neomail to someone saying 'i love neomail' so something like that? Thats how i got the avvie back then lol
stephie23
Yep, I wish you still did, I dont know why they had to make it a rediculously hard avie to get -_-
linda
Hmm, to be honest it's not worth it in my opinion T_T I just like the spiffy avatar :P The SSW will help on quests and will help you out ALOT if you love to restock/you're a reseller. :)
stephie23
I think you should be able to use the SSW on your birthday (its only once a year, come on TNT be nice!!!)
lovedwallflower
theres that board on TDN where you can start neomailing someone frequently to get the avatar. im currently neomailing a person for the avvie but none of us has it so far :( tbh, the only reason id consider getting premium is that avatar and the ssw, but even then.. i mean youre paying real money for something virtual. neopets is all well and good but its a cheap and inexpensive hobby for me. stephie23
I wonder if you cant get it that way anymore .. maybe you HAVE to get premium to get it now :(
Vixensykerd
Yeah, because I'm also neomailing people to try and get it, and I don't know anyone who's got it from randomly neomailing. Can't you just get it for a week then quit? Or does it have to be a few months contract
Viridian
I got it through neomailing with random people only less than a month ago :) But I agree the avatar is a bit too hard to get!
