The Money Tree

Normally I don't spend much time at the money tree, but when I was going for my packrat avatar, I found the money tree to be a great help. I mean come on, free stuff even if it is junk is free stuff!

 

The money tree is a place for unwanted items, like that pile of rainbow dung that has invaded your inventory, or an old rotten boot, however, sometimes people make mistakes and things are donated that shouldn't be such as codestones or even map pieces. Now I've personally never gotten a hold of such items as my computer is not as fast as some, plus I don't normally spend a lot of time at the money tree, but have you personally ever gotten a hold on something rare, or unique at the money tree?

I've snagged a paint brush from the money tree before. Sometimes, there's really good stuff available there, but you have to be patient and quick to get any of it.

A paint brush? Wow, that is really rare, I've never seen a paint brush in there, or even a paint brush plushie. Though I have seen a part of the secret lab map, though I wasn't the one to get it. Good for you!!!

I've gotten a book there before, but it turned out to be one of those really cheap books that Weltrude's Chest gives out xD.

The best item I have ever gotten from The Money Tree was just something worth about 1k, which still isn't too shabby! Most of the time it's just junk, I don't have the patience to sit there and wait.

I haven't tried my luck at the Money Tree for a while now...

 

But the best thing I've ever won was an Underwater Fishing prize. :P

 

(The moral of the story is: Always try your luck somewhere; you never know what you'll find!)

I've received so many good things from there. Half of my plushie collection came from there. I've got a few treasure map pieces from there, as well as a starry paint brush and two pieces of the petpet lab map. They were the same piece but got me two free pieces, essentially.

 

It's worth it!

I accidentally donated my lab map peice, but oh well. I've gotten 83 neopoints before if that helps. :-P

I accidently donated an expensive Osiri's pottery piece before, unlike when you are discarding something, they don't ask you if you’re sure when donating

I used to stalk the Money Tree a lot, made some decent money off of it, and I have seen a few map pieces, codestones, and even a Desert Paint Brush pass by once. I usually grabbed books, too, so that I could read to my pets without waiting each day at Weltrude's or paying money. It is good for the Pack Rat avatar as well as cheap restocking behavior. I never found it too irritating, though.

the money tree has some good things if you are patient. i just dont have that trait. so for me its pointless

It's good to see that some people here have managed to snag a few good things. And Deepti M. I feel your pain, there has been a few times where I've actually donated things accidentally, some gourmet food being one of them...never fun. I never did understand why they don't have that extra button to press like when you discard something...

I remember when there was Balthazar's Faerie Giveaway. Those were some GOOD Money Tree times. Of course, my computer back then was lousy. :laughingsmiley:

The Money Tree has its goods and bads. I usually tend to get all the bads *lol* But you can surely get LUCKY at times :D

I ocasionally visit the Money Tree, and i often get good things - of course, sometimes the gifts are better than others.

 

I saw this topic and i had to have another go ^_^

 

For example i just got a "Giant Bath Plug", which is not the best item, but its free, and helps towards the pack rat avatar ^_^
