Jikuu
Ever notice a person's trade or the fact that they bought something from your store, click on their name, and find that ALL THEIR PETS ARE CRYING?! I dunno, maybe it's just me, maybe I'm weird, but isn't playing Neopets about raising the pets? Isn't that supposed to be first and foremost item on the ol' agenda plan, not acquiring gobs of NP or avatars? Isn't it almost wrong that users will trade and sell and buy and play Flash games without a second thought about their pets, sniveling in the corner? Do your Neopets a favor: Play with them and feed them! This message brought to you by the "I'm sad of seeing teary-eyed Neopets group". sara1elo
Lion
All of mine are like that. They get like that when they are hungry, and playing with toys can't solve that. Besides, who said that Neopets was about raising pets?
Jikuu
You're a meanie. =P I figure that's why the omelettes and jellies are free, to feed them even if you have very few Neopoints. But really, it's a game that centers around having virtual pets. I'm sure that when it comes to playing in a fantasy economy, there are other things out there. Lion
*is an rser and is upset that you are getting upset over not feeding pets and saying that I don't have very many NP* Enough said. RPG's are based around economy (well at least video game rpgs) and Neopets is no expectation. Many people I know only play neo for the games and the boards... Jikuu
I'm actually not upset, just pointing it out. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Tam
I think some pets get sadder more often than others, when my gelert was my active, she was never sad but my Jetsam is a lot more temperamental!
Lion
Just remember that after the whole neo redesign and customization, there was no emotions for a couple of months. Now they are back. And remember that not all Neopets look like they're crying. I have a Koi, Wocky and Kacheek and none of them cry...
Jikuu
I've noticed that my active pet will lose the "delighted!" status a lot quicker than my other pets. As for remembering, I've only been around a couple months, so I didn't realize that they removed emotions, but I will keep that in mind. hrtbrk
Not gunna lie, it does bother me when some people don't 'take care of' their pets. It takes a whopping 30 seconds to feed them and keep them happy. Hopefully they won't complain if/when their pets get turned blue!
Jikuu
I know some folks have fun with the Battledome. Doesn't neglecting the pet in some way keep it from participating? I really think that if a Neopet account is neglected for a really long time (6 months, 1 year, something like that), the Neopets just go belly up. Put up some tombstones. Really scare the kids who think twice about not feeding the family cat or something. =P
Queen Diva
I really think that if a Neopet account is neglected for a really long time (6 months, 1 year, something like that), the Neopets just go belly up. Put up some tombstones hahahahahahahahaa!! What a fabo idea! This made me laugh lots :)
Coco
My Lenny is suffering from a rare disease and I can't even see him cry over it because customization doesn't allow him to bare emotions. XD Although Neopets is a virtual pet site, it's not the first purpose of some people.
Jade Danielle
Aw, sad neopets kinda bother me. I mean, if you're just there for the games and such, that's totally cool, but it kinda makes a bad impression on the people who're there partially for the pets if you don't take a sec to make your pets happy! Between the giant omelette, free jelly, and capri sun snackbar it's pretty much free to feed your pets, so I don't really get it. :P
Mimii
Besides, who said that Neopets was about raising pets? Um, well let's break it down here: The site is called Neopets. The domain name is called Neopets. Neopets are your actual pets. The site is not called Neoitems or Neopoints. I think you are wrong in assuming that it's not supposed to be about your pets because it very much is. If they were so insignificant would we have all these options of feeding, playing with and taking care of them? Would we have tons of items that are used on or for your PETS? Nope. So I think it's pretty much common knowledge that Neopets has to do with raising pets. It is also a grand source of other things but raising pets is a central theme. Lion
Mimi, you took my joke too seriously. It was sarcasm. It should be called Neoitems... but that's already a fan site :P
Deepti M.
I try to feed my pets, but I do admit, I forget sometimes. I'm feeding my pets right now. I get them bloated, but I just got distracted by a kadoatie guide. Off to feed my pets! (AGAIN) :P
May.
yeah, it kinda bothers me, sometimes too. like deepti said, i forget to feed my pets sometimes, too. xD but i feed them all at the same time. so if my active's hungry, chances are all of my pets are. so it makes it easier to feed them. Mimii
Mimi, you took my joke too seriously. It was sarcasm. It should be called Neoitems... but that's already a fan site :P No need to be hateful, since your pets really are all sad it didn't seem like you were being "sarcastic" at all. That's why I explained.
Sapphy the Swamp Witch
I leave my Neopets in Cockroach Towers xD so I don't need to worry about feeding them. They're always happy, but if somebody else has unhappy pets I don't think it's really any of my business.
kss15
It can be sometimes hard to detect sarcasm over the internet..you know, given that you can't hear the tone of voice or anything. Anyway, I don't think it matters too much if the pets are crying or whatever-I mean they are virtual, just a bunch of code. But on the other hand, I mean if you're going to be on the site, how hard is it to feed your pets, especially given that that's what Neopets is centered around. I duno, lol I can see both sides, but I geuss to the question of should you take care of your neopets?, I say yay! though I do sometimes forget to feed my pets too, or am off the site for a few months
