dazngurl Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 to everyone out there, which application do you use to make awesome looking pictures, lookups, siggys, and everything else! i personally use photoshop cs3. but i have paintshop too. i dont know much about paintshop so i cant really say that photoshop is better. hrtbrk Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Personally, it's not the type of program you have, it's how you use it. Research tutorials and how to's. I can make something look just as good in MS Paint as it does in Photoshop. But I use CS3/CS4. Quote
dazngurl Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 oh yeah. i didnt think about it like that. thanks for letting me know. xD Quote
Omnalu Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I use a little heard of program called Fireworks (Macromedia Fireworks). I can't say if photoshop is better, since I've never used it, but I can do almost the exact same things people in photoshop can, it just takes a bit longer since Fireworks doesn't have as many tools as photoshop. And that's my two cents ^_^ Quote
Mimii Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 A lot of my super awesome graphic artist friends have been using Photoshop for years and are now switching to GIMP, they say it works just as good. I personally use CS3 as well. :P Quote
FutureTXTurkey Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I use a combination of paint.net a free software that is very much like Photoshop, and MS Powerpoint. <--A Highly Underrated Graphics Tool Quote
rachiee Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I'm a user of GIMP, I've been using it for almost a year now and have been loving it (: I don't make lookups with it, just siggies, avatars/icons, and drawings. Maybe even photomanips sometimes, idk. I also occasionally use paint.net, or maybe even MS Paint. But my primary graphics program is GIMP. Quote
Hubert Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I was a fan of GiMP but I got to be honest, Photoshop is much better according to me. But it isn't something that I would by, I just have it because it was with the computer I bought, otherwise I would stick with GiMP. Quote
Rosary Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I use a little heard of program called Fireworks (Macromedia Fireworks). I can't say if photoshop is better, since I've never used it, but I can do almost the exact same things people in photoshop can, it just takes a bit longer since Fireworks doesn't have as many tools as photoshop. And that's my two cents ^_^ :P I used to use fireworks at school. Not very cooperative, really. Photoshop is just stingy. And slow. I don't like gimp, personally. The workplace is too messy. I tried downloading it the other day (just to see how it was like..) and closed it immediately. (And uninstalled it.) I personally use photoshop CS4. I had CS3, then my brother got me a CS4. I like CS3 better, but it doesn't matter. Quote
Xepha Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I've got CS4 master suite on my mac (Thanks SG ;) ) and I like it. I've no problems to use it at all. Other than that, I've some fun programs that I got from Macheist recently that I need to try more for quick and fun jobs :P They are Picturesque and Acorn. I also got Color Schemer Studio to help me with colors in general :). Quote
Alice Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I use photoshop cs3. all of my friends try it after using gimp or something and say it's way too complicated, but I despise using gimp now that I use photoshop, there isn't enough to do. I guess it depends on what you start out with. Quote
Ardeo Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I use GIMP, because no one would get me photoshop or paintshop and GIMP was free xD Although I did get a free trial for photoshop, I don't think I had it long enough to judge whether it was better or not. GIMP can do some pretty awesome things, though, and I love it. ^_^ Quote
Captain Awesome Pants Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Hmm, if I could afford photoshop then I'd use that. But I'm stuck with GIMP. Which isn't at all bad. GIMP is amazing. But it doesn't have as many tools as photoshop, and the quality of some of the tools isn't as good as photoshop's. But GIMP works fine for me. Quote
