Accidental Buying

When you click on something in a shop, a message comes up saying "Are you sure you want to buy [item name here] at [number of NP here] NP?" Well sometimes I accidentally click on the wrong item, so when the little box comes up, I click 'No.' The little box goes away, but when I check my inventory, the item is sitting there anyway and I'm out however many NPs it cost to buy the item I didn't want. Why? And does this happen to everyone, or just me?

Oooh that sucks. I don't think I've had that happen, but I know it can. It's usually because of a coding error/glitch I'm told by some programming people I know.

Ugh yes, bad memories... I clicked on some stupid sandwich accidentally for something mad like 80K when it was only worth a few hundred NP, and I knew that. Clicked 'no' but it still made me buy it, sad, sad times :[. I've tried to be really careful and it hasn't happened since. Then again I put all my NP in the bank and only take out when I need when I need it. So hopefully if it does happen again I won't have enough on hand for it to work ^_^.

I wasn't aware shops still did this, as it happened a few years ago. I thought it would have been OK by now.

Actually, first, report the bug to Neopets. Maybe they can help you out.

this could be a glitch... as far as i remember, neopets has an onclick event set up for the user shops. it should look something like

<a href="some url" onclick="return prompt('Are you sure you want to buy this')"><img src="image path"></a>

if that's still the case, there should be no reason for this type of thing to be happening.
