Ashley Rose
I enjoyed all of the books in the Twilight Saga. It just depends on your taste. I wouldn't say they are not what people make them out to be, it's all opinion. I also really enjoy Harry Potter. Twilight and HP are by far my favorite books! I can't say I've read a lot other than those books since I've always had school stuff to read. Though I did read a lot of books for a class I had last year. Definitely not for the faint-hearted...but the book "A Child Called It" was a decent book. The writing could have been better, but the point of the book is great, and the information as well. It's a true story about a child suffering through abuse from his mother. It's been said that it isnt' true and he made it up, but he claims it is true. Either way it's very educational and quite sad as well.
antiaircraft
September 20th? But that's over a month away. That's too long. :( I can't believe Paolini made it so long that it had to be made into two books. xD Patience is a virtue. :P If you rush a writer, you get a bad book, and that would be the last thing any of us want. And as somebody who's had some experience in writing, I don't find it surprising that he wrote a lot more than originally intended. ardnek49
:crying_blow: I have to wait until it comes out in paperback. I have this thing about a book series looking the same :P I hope it's not going to be something like 6 months because I can't wait that long. Does anyone know how many books are there altogether in the series? o_O I know the feeling. Also, when I start buying a series, I have to buy all of the books :O There are supposed to be 4 books I believe, with Breaking Dawn being the last. (Is that what a saga is??) Nooooo.....! I don't think a saga's only made up of four books...If it's only four books, shouldn't it be a quartet?

Yup, a quartet is made up of four books. I don't think there's a specific definition in terms of numbers of books for a saga.
sc8_mushroom
I thought that breaking dawn would be the last one but apparently she's thinking of writing a fifth and sixth book too :eh: And yes, i read twilight before new moon. I did enjoy twilight though :) Also, now i'm on Eclipse!! :D

I personally like fantasy and romance :)
antiaircraft
My personal favourite is science fiction. Fantasy comes next. And while I realise that romance is a necessary ingredient for a good story, too much of it generally puts me off.
m3l3ana
Anyone ever read "Not Without My Sister"?? I just started it as someone recommended it!
LadySussudio
What type of books does everyone like? I personally like fantasy and romance :) I love reading Crime/Detective type books. (I'm useless with knowing proper genre's though! ^_^). I mainly just refer to them as Detective stories now as some silly people online think that if I read crime books, I must love blood, illegal activities and hurting people :eh: I've just always loved the process of figuring out a murder - having all these little clues, putting them together properly, getting actual evidence from them, etc. I can't really say any other genre's for sure as even though I am interested in things like Sci-Fi and Fantasy, I won't always like a book about it, you know? And while I realise that romance is a necessary ingredient for a good story, too much of it generally puts me off. Oh I agree! Nothing wrong with romance, but if I'm reading about people solving a crime, I don't want every other page to be about "akward moments" and wondering if they feel the same - just get on with solving the crime!! :)
sc8_mushroom
i LOVE to read fantasy but i do read just about any type of book. Has anyone read uglies, pretties, specials, or extras? i love those books (though i haven't read extras yet since my school library didn't get that one) and they're thinking of making them into movies! Faded
I read any type of books really. Apart from horror. Come to think of it, I don't think I've actually read any sci-fic :O Does anyone read manga?
rdreader
In my mind, they should count and so should manga. Manga is my favorite kind of book to read. I have all 23 volumes of the Bleach manga. Um, did I just hear Levy's jaw drop? Aside from that, the last book I read "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". That's right...I read Harry Potter, and I'm fine with that. In my opinion, manga is the best kind of book to read. It has pictures and even after reading it for a whole day, your eyes don't hurt. The book I'm reading now is Shift, by Jennifer Bradbury. LadySussudio
I've finished reading "Dead simple" by Peter James - good read! I'm now going back to read the rest of my Sherlock Holmes books (I'm at, "The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes") as the other books I have left to read are part of a series, so I want to get them all and then read in order :)
sc8_mushroom
I remember the first time I took out a manga book I had such a hard time understanding and following it. At first I didn't even know how to read it but when I finally figured it out, I just found it hard to understand. Maybe because it was in Japanese but I thought I would've been able to undertand haha. But that was a long time ago, I'm sure if I tried reading it now I'd have a better understanding :P
