  1. Congrats! I recently started trying for this one every day, and I can't wait to get it. Random avatars don't seem to like me, however.

And CAV, some of us like to collect avatars. :P

I've been resisting on spending for the more expensive avatars, but I splurged for Bonju because it's seasonal.

  2. I used to bug my friend that was a huge Harry Potter fan, by saying the HP was not Harry Potter. It was Hewlitt Packard.

haha, this made me laugh out loud. :laughingsmiley:

I liked the books more or less, at least I tore through them. The ones towards the end starting bothering me. I didn't like when Harry was all moody, and I didn't like the way that the series ended. I thought it was kinda dumb (sorry).

I read a LOT at work. I've gone through all my favorite authors. (I finally caught up with Clive Cussler.) I've read all Steve Martini, Brad Meltzer, Lisa Scottoline. I've read Matthew Reilly's Jack West Jr. series. All of Lincoln Child. I've been running out of good authors/books.

Right now, I'm reading The Judas Strain by James Rollins.

And I discovered a really good new series (TSI) but so far there's only 2 books. (TSI The Gabon Virus. And TSI Influenza Bomb.)

I don't like Clive Cussler, or at least the one book of his that I read. I don't know the other authors. I might like TSI though because I like medically things and popular science books in general. Sometimes scientific inconsistencies bother me though... it's that way with CSI. I like watching it, but sometimes I can't help but be like "labs aren't like that!" or "that drug doesn't do that!" I have a lot of nonfiction books that I'm planning on reading, but I need to balance it more from fiction because I get tired of reading nonfiction all the time.

I'm reading a P.D. James book right now. What kind of books do you like? I'm a big fan of Agatha Christie (I like murder/mystery books). P.G. Wodehouse is pretty good if you like dry British humor. Oh and if you like grammar Eats, Shoots, and Leaves by Lynn Truss is really good/funny.

  3. That's true.

I think I'm going to make him salsa and then figure something to do together. I just got some fabric (with chilis!), ribbon, and canning jars from the store, and I think I'm going to can some for him. Hopefully I can get the seals right. :laughingsmiley: I have two kinds of salsa that I've made before that he likes, so I think that will work. Boys are so difficult sometimes. :P

That's a good idea about the stamp. I don't know if I can bring myself to put it in my album yet or not. :laughingsmiley:

  4. Well, he's kinda picky. His hobbies are 4-wheeling and airsofting. He's working on a car for 4-wheeling right now, but for both hobbies he's very specific about what he wants (especially for his car) and I wouldn't know what to get/how to get it anyways. Plus they're expensive. :P :laughingsmiley:

I got him a lego set in the architecture series for his graduation because just finished architecture school and loves legos.

His birthday's tomorrow... I'll make salsas for now and figure out what else to do later. I think I'm going to try and plan something to do together.

Oh, and I hesitated putting the stamp in my album. It's hard because it's worth so much. I probably will later though.

  5. The Azkaban movie bugged me, so I didn't see any others. I liked the books though. I can't believe the movies came out so quickly, but I guess that needed to be done so that kids wouldn't look too old. :laughingsmiley:

  6. I found a typo...

I have only one account, because I would feel to mean to put pets on a side without the loving care that I give to my pets on my main.

    It should be "too."

    Another one:

My application might not be as long or detailed at some other applications, but it is filled with the feelings I have for Nohrbert.

It should be "as," I think.

I like your application! :) It's very cute and nice. Personally, I like simple ones. :D

  7. Oh and grammar typos bug me sometimes too... like using "it's" when it's supposed to be "its." Some sentences are funny if you make the contraction "it is" when someone meant to write its. It also bugs me when the wrong "there," "their," or "they're" is used.

I guess I'm a little picky about that sometimes.

  8. Yeah, last season wasn't the greatest for the D-Backs. I still love baseball though. I grew up on it - my grandpa had season tickets at the university (before AZ had a team) and I've been going to games since I was a few months old. I like going to the games, but I don't usually watch it on TV because it's not the same.

  9. It could melt. I don't know about SC, but it's pretty hot in AZ.

oooh, I could pack it in some dry ice. That would probably work. I'm sure I'd have to send some to Colorado to Spritzie as well. :laughingsmiley:

I haven't even made it yet! haha.

    EDIT:

I'm off to bed. Night livvy! Night anyone else that might be lurking!

  10. I decided to train my main pet some in order to go for the Black Pteri avatar, and I was going to the Count at the same time, every time decreasing levels. I tried it again recently and got the same thing. I think it will be easy to not do it after getting the avatar, if/when I go for it again.

Well, hopefully you'll be glad you got the stamp. The price *should* go up later, but it's so hard to tell with the economy sometimes. 560k isn't bad either.

Sorry I took off... I was going to chat around here and then my boyfriend came over. We're going to a wedding in another state in September and are trying to organize plane tickets, etc. I'm excited at the prospect of having a king sized bed all to myself. :D

P.S. Any ideas on what to get a boy for his birthday? Boys are hard...

    EDIT:

Apparently there was a Skunk Draik MP stocked in the magic shop about an hour ago. :O

  11. I've tried a few times, but I keep losing levels.

Anisha, that's neat that you're 12 hours off. That makes it easy!

Oh and friend first went to India to study at IIT Kampur for a semester (he was there the summer before too). He also went to a small village to teach some kids English. He had studied Hindi before he went. The second time he went, he was in the north and learned some Punjabi. He brought me back a Salwar Kameez.

  12. All the tea talk makes me want tea. I love all kinds, hot or iced.

I have some good flavored teas where you don't miss sugar when they're iced. I usually don't add much to tea... just honey. And Thai iced tea is good too but very very sweet with the condensed milk!

So I just had a revelation that I thought I would share with you. I just realized that the just that plays the voice of Aladin is the guy who plays Steve on Full House :woot: I'm not sure why that was so exciting to realize but it was...

    Whoa!

    !!!

That makes sense... I think there was a full house where he was dressed as Aladdin. At least, I remember seeing him dressed as Aladdin as some point.

  13. It's a hard issue to fix because these malicious players work around whatever deterrent TNT puts in place. It would be a waste of money on their part.

The only way it would probably ever be stopped is if they disabled all user coding and custom designs for look ups and shops. That being said, I wish we were given an option in our user prefs to disable user code in shops & look ups for obvious reasons. Plus, some are so atrocious to look at

That's actually a really good idea! I wonder how hard that would be to implement.

  14. haha, thanks. You haven't even seen it! :P

And the wifey thing is pretty silly. :laughingsmiley:

Well I have to run some errands... I'll be back maybe a little this afternoon and for sure this evening, I'm sure after Spritzie has gone home. :(

  15. Hello, hello! So apparently I should have showered before crashing and going to bed last night since I woke up with sand and small shell pieces everywhere in my bed.

haha. Little surprises I guess. :D

I finally got my laptop back after 2 1/2 weeks. And the summer is only......HALF OVER!?!?!?!?!? :crying:

Congrats on getting your laptop back. Guess what... my summer is over on August 9th, so I think you're lucky that it's only half over. (I've been freaking out about that this week.)

I'm only dreading summer ending because I'm not ready to freeze to death this winter. I'm not looking forward to it being dark when I got to work, and being dark again when I get off work.

    Winter is evil. <_<

I hate when it's dark when you have to get up in the morning. It makes it really hard to do stuff.

I hate the cold, the snow, the ice. Driving can get really dangerous. If we get a bad storm, the person who comes in after me at work, might not be able to get in, so I'd be stuck at work for their shift too. (And 24 hours, over-time or not, is just too much.)

Whoa, that really stinks!!! No fun at all. :sad01_anim:

:laughingsmiley: Yes! We have beaches in India. India is a peninsular area, surrounded by water on three sides. I live in Goa, it is famous for beaches. ^_^

Anisha, did I tell you my friend is in India right now? This is his third time visiting. He loves the country. I think he might be traveling around, so I'm not sure where he is right now.

I never liked it. My mom made my dad learn along with me and my sister. We all hated it. My dad stopped after he fell on his elbow the first run of the day, and cracked a rib. So we all quit. If I had to go, I'd sit in the ski lodge drinking hot chocolate.

My dad and stepmom made me go skiing once, and left me in this class with a bunch of people I didn't know (I was six). I pretended I was sick so that I could go in the lodge and drink hot chocolate. You should totally bring hot chocolate to work!

Oh and hi lona! I don't think I met you before.

  16. Haha, dust=my enemy! I get the worst allergies. <_<

Awwww, I love Anubises. Or however you spell it.

Me too! I've been cleaning out my room and I had a hard time sleeping last night/woke up early because of my reaction to the dust. ack!

Masaryk - I love the slorg gallery! It's really cute.

Aw, guys... I'm a little bummed because I didn't get chosen for this contest I entered. It's a rock fiddle challenge to play Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns 'N Roses. There was a mini contest on the first 24 measures that I entered by putting a video up on YouTube, and they picked 7 people out of about twice that and I wasn't one of the seven. (It gets narrowed down to 3 people who get CDs and the top one gets a bow).

I guess I'll have to work hard on winning another mini contest... or the whole thing! haha. I don't think I will though. :sad01_anim:
