Upon releasing this faerie from her bottle, she grants [my pet] the following blessings:

    Light: 2

"Take your blessings to Aethia and train your abilities for use in the Battledome!", she says.

The faerie vanishes in a puff of smoke and is gone!

Hooray! It works! (Just in case a few of you were wondering) Thankful for free BD items!

  2. Too many factions to choose from! This feels very Altador Cup-ish. You're either committed to one team or you just want to sign up with whoever you think the winning team will be. I'm torn between the Order, Seekers, and the Awakened (somewhat... I liked the video, but I just had a nightmare about zombies and I'm kinda freaked out now lol).

  3. Hi, Vic! Any faerie quest will last forever unless you give the item asked for or reject the quest. You will be unable to use the Shop Wizard until you complete the quest. In order to find the item, you can ask for help on the TDN forums here or check the Neoboards. :)

Also, TDN has a great in-depth guide to faerie quests if you'd like to check it out:

  4. Habi is one of my favorite ways for earning NP. :) I used to snipe/restock, but it was very time consuming since I'm not much of an expert.

Somewhat off topic: Does anyone know if they are still doing nightly maintenance (NST) on the Habi? It would be very nice to earn more NP during that time frame, but I haven't tested it.

  5. Hmm... I double checked and I'm definitely not in a fight. This particular pet is only a few months old and has never battled. It also has never been adopted. Thanks for the suggestions, though.

    EDIT:

I think I figured it out. I was finally able to cure my Neopet after I made a different Neopet active. I think that the active Neopet is automatically seen in the battledome as "Getting Ready For A Battle" since it's the first Neopet that pops up when you first enter the battledome... even though you're not in a battle. It's just a speculation, though. I can't think of any other reason other than a glitch.

  6. I've tried googling this and searching the forums, but I haven't been able to come up with any results (or maybe I'm just using the wrong keywords). So here I am!

Has anyone tried to cure a pet from a disease and was told "Error: You cannot cure a pet while it is in a fight!" when your pet was, in fact, not in a fight?

I know I could wait and have a few snowballs thrown in my face for kicks and giggles until the Water Faerie decides to help, but with the Neggitus Injection being so cheap, I'd like to avoid her patronizing smile at my expense. ^_^'

Yayuh! I'm not very good with game avatars... except for the ones with definite solutions. Mwahaha.

  9. Hi guys, ever since i've been playing, i have always wanted to try out restocking. However, the best that i could ever achieve was a bunch of measly 5000 books at the bookstore. So i just wanna check to see how i can further refine it.

    1. When u want to key in your figure, is there a faster way to do it instead of manually pressing the box?

    2. How do you spread out ur numbers for typing?

    3. Approximately how long should you take for the whole process?

Also, I've heard about food stores and the pharmacy, but they seem pretty daunting, especially with my luck in the bookstore. Is it really possible? How long would it take?

Thanks guys. Any response will be appreciated. Sorry about the wall of questions too =P

I am by no means an expert RSer, but...

    1) Right now, the fastest way to type in your price is by clicking in the box. There's no need to delete the "0" because the shopkeeper will still process your transaction. As stated above, typing numbers that are close to one another helps. This will vary depending on what type of keyboard you use. Different keyboards will make different numbers "close" to each other. For example:

A keyboard with no right handed keypad (like most laptops) would probably force the restocker to use the numbers at the top of the keyboard.

A keyboard with a keypad (like most that come with computers) would probably be faster to use for the restocker since his/her fingers do not have to travel all the way across the keyboard to reach more numbers.

Having your mouse near your numerical keypad helps. There's less time lost due to less movement.

    2) I'm not sure what you mean by this, but hopefully it's answered in "1" :)

    3) If you're referring to how long a transaction should take, it should be the least amount of time possible. Unfortunately, you are competing with thousands of other quick hands and (unfortunately) autobuyers so the less time you spend moving and typing, the faster you can snag the item you want.

Here are some tips that have helped me make the most of a restock:

    a. Keep mouse and numerical keypad next to each other (I have a laptop, but I have a peripheral keypad and mouse that I keep together)

    b. Familarize yourself with the items that are frequently stocked at a shop so you can avoid them (they are items that won't yield the most profit).

    c. After you refresh and see a new restock, do a very quick glance at all the items so you have an idea of what to purchase next after you click on one item. You'll know where your eyes and mouse should travel after you grab your first item. (also keep in mind that you will have to wait 5 seconds before purchasing your next item) After some practice with the suggestion in letter "b", letter "c" will get easier.

    d. Prices of items drop after HPD (Half Price Day) so wait until at least halfway through the month before pricing to maximize profits (you don't have to worry about this if you don't do SW/SSW pricing but like to overprice and advertise your shop instead). So you can get a bunch of books at the bookshops and still make a nice profit... just later in the month.

TDN has a really cool restocking simulation if you want to try practicing first. Hope this helps! :)

  10. I have a Kindle and I do think it's easier to be able to carry multiple books around on one small device versus a whole back-breaking bookshelf.

That being said, I still absolutely enjoy having a physical book. There's so much character that goes into books. I look back at my Harry Potter books (Books 1-3) and find Hot Cheeto-stained pages and I'm reminded of my middle school afternoons, lounging around with a book and my favorite snack. I look back at my Nicolas Sparks books and laugh hysterically at the tear-soaked pages of my highly emotional youth. I even managed to find some of my Little Mermaid books from Kindergarten where I crossed out Ariel and Prince Eric's name and rewrote my name and my crush's name! :laughingsmiley:

I guess it really depends now. If I know a book will captivate me, I usually opt for the physical book. If it's more expensive to get a physical copy, I opt for the digital copy.

I don't think paper books will retire anytime soon. Maybe in the future since the upcoming generations are growing up in the age where digital growth is more embraced than in the past generations.
