So if I choose the Wheels one, can I do the Wheel of Extravagance twice for just 100k, or do I have to pay twice also?
Huge difference...
-
Hit All Star last night. Finally. Wasn't even much fun towards the end.
-
So do games played today (bye day) not count towards my rank or prize shop points?
-
Any idea why we're not in first? We beat Kreludor and tied Darigan (although won the important games) and have otherwise been pretty dominant. I don't understand the scoring system.
Keep playing hard guys! Lets get to the top of this bracket!

Lens Flare. Training. Downsize!
Probably not much else in that price range that will make a huge difference. I think you've grabbed some solid weapons already, and I would probably wait until I had a big sum to throw at a couple of big deal items.
-
I'd like to know about that as well.
-
MaskedBeast: At this point it looks like the Ring of the Sway (at 11 icons not too impressive itself) is probably the best offensive weapon in a very weak cast. Unless someone discovers some secret awesomeness she shovel does... 50% earth reflected as fire is pretty underwhelming.

I wouldn't get a shield. Your D is low, and the more you crunch the numbers, the more you realize they don't help all that much. They depend a lot on what your opponent is carrying, to the point you'll likely need to carry 2 or 3 to be well protected. Then what if you use the wrong one when they switch weapons?
I would get a Kelpbeards Trident (or SHM; everyone seems to like that more these days), Hanso Charisma Charm, Parasol of Unfortunate Demise, Downsize!, and an upgraded Healer. GHS is pretty cost effective. Beyond that you'll be paying a lot more for not all that much. Definitely get Lens Flare. Free turns are awesome.
I think that'll all be within your budget.
Parasol and the Charisma charm are great D for you cuz your D boost is lower, and they block all of an icon. The HCC is probably one of the best all around weapons in the game. It hits just about as hard as your constants so.... With your lower D boost, I wouldn't really bother with any shields or Dual duties that block numbers of icons. I think Downsize and full icon blockers are probably more your speed, because you can't get hamstrung by your D boost.
Next time you find yourself with a large chunk of money to spend, I think a MMOM is the way to go.

On battlepedia, Scroll of Ultranova is quoted at 9.8 icons. You subtracted one too many from the 11 it "appears" as.
Please ignore my previous comment about the Ultimate Negg Hammer. I read an early report that it blocks all light; it does not. Definitely not all that awesome (although not terrible for a free weapon...).

If I were to battle on a tight budget.......
I would want the most "bang for your buck" items around.
I'm a huge fan of the Scroll of Ultranova. You can get them for around 900np and they hit for about 10 icons. Talk about bang for your buck.
If you do the Festival of Neggs, the Ultimate Negg Hammer actually looks like a pretty decent. Alternatively, Parasol of Unfortunate Demise is a spectacular bang for the buck; it's a bit redundant with the above hammer.
You can't beat Lesser Healing Scroll for healing value.
Downsize! is one of the best valued items in the game.
(Thus far we've spent about 7 or 8 K np).
I would use the next 50k (or whatever it takes now) to get the lvl 50 Lens Flare faerie ability. A must have.
For bombs I would go with the muffins you win from fighting.
Not sure what else I would really go for. Maybe a leaf shield if you wanted a classic. Scarab ring for the same reason.
I wouldn't bother with a cheap freezer at your level; I would just save up and wait for one of the 100% freezers. The other big thing to save for would be the G-bomb.
Best

Lennis have both a species healer and species freezer. Great deal.
Scorchios have good resistances. Their resistance to fire is extra awesome, because you probably won't be able to afford a good fire block for a long, long, long time.
-
Prizes definitely have gone down in quality. I'm hoping that'll pump the red codestone prices back up. I used to get excited when I'd get one cuz it would be a big sale. Now it's...... just going into the SDB. Not even worth it to sell at these prices.
-
So... I would imagine this guy actually is beatable even without the health whittled down. If you have ~5k health or more and the wand of the dark faerie, any time you're below 1250 health, you heal 1250 health back up. Given that's more than he/she is dishing out most turns, wouldn't you essentially be able to fight forever? Maybe Wand of Dark Faerie + HNMS every turn just to make sure you never get killed.
-
Lens flare is probably one of the best bang for your buck things you can by for the Battledome these days. With the price drop maybe lesser healing scroll is comparably well priced, but whatever.
If you have lens flare and a 100% freezer, you essentially get two free turns the first turn (unless they use an ability back). That's a huge advantage and enough to knock many of these opponents out. It also guarantees you a round where you can use your bomb and have the whole thing get through. If you get to a high level and throw Warlock's Rage in on top, boom, you have three straight free rounds, and I doubt many enemies can stand three straight rounds against a pet trained to level 200.
I'm sure Shhhh is nice, espcially when the 1p guys "cheat," but there really is nothing like 2-3 free rounds.

how do you give someone an item for the 2nd achievement?
-
This is the exact set I'm working towards. Only a few things away at this point.
I would give a pinky toe for a Wand of the Dark Faerie, though. I don't think it gets any better than that thing.
-
So what's the consensus? Should I do a ton of battles every day or just fill the bar?
Personally, I've been doing a lot more than just the bar every day. I vaguely suspect (and hope!!!) that'll make a difference come prize time.
What do you guys think?
-
Okay, thanks guys! I picked up a Downsize! for 11k. Even at once per battle, the cost benefit on those is absolutely absurd. I can't imagine needing it more than once a battle. I think that's probably one of those things (mostly) where I'm trying to avoid a draw when both I and the opponent are running on low health.
So where to from there?
Thanks again!
-
So thus far suggestions are Downsize! (is that multi use?), Magical Marbles, and training! Thanks guys!
It just occurred to me:
Any reason to grab an everlasting crystal apple? I know I would outgrow it pretty soon, but it might be able to get me through the plot and probably wouldn't lose much value if I wanted to sell it after?
I appreciate the help from you expert battlers. Just let me know what to do!

You WILL have to sacrifice the gender/species of whichever pet you use. It takes a long time, even with the lab ray, to get pets up to legitimately good stats. Chances are your gender/species/color will change several times during that period.
My advice would be to pick your least favorite pet and just start zapping.
I did it for a while. Went from a nice looking male scorchio to an absolutely absurd looking phephin female. Oh well. I actually got rid of that pet, just cuz I wanted to pare it down to only two. Now I've got a different lab rat. He has changed genders a few times but that's about it thus far. No biggie.
For me I run it as more of an experiment/sideshow. My main pet I train traditionally. I like it because I can "pick" his stats. I can also buy species weapons. That said, if my lab rat ever becomes stronger, rest assured that I'll be happy to battle with him/her/it instead.
Again, just pick your least favorite and start zapping. Do so with the knowledge that it's species/color/gender WILL change (don't even think about spending lots of money on species healers/freezers). Not might. It WILL at some point.

Hey guys! Thanks in advance for the help.
I'll start with stats and set.
Level: 75
HP: 145
Strength: 133
Defense: 85
Intel: 112
Set
G-bomb
Kelpbeard's
Hanso Charm
Greater Healing Scroll
Meh/Bad Shield
Abilities
Icicle
Solar Flare (best bang for the buck thing I ever bought)
So, I'm starting to get a little worried about staying plot competitive. I didn't have any trouble handling the current guys on mighty, but I'm betting that's about to change. I'm thinking I can probably reliably beat foes up to ~225 difficulty, and if they are dark icon heavy maybe 250-275. We'll probably be getting to that range within two days.
I have about 8 million to play with.
I'm doing my best to level up my strength to catch the BIG boost at 200. I don't want to buy ASPs or anything like that, because financially they really are a waste relative to the training school. If I get close enough by the time I can't handle the foes, I'll do it then. I'm betting I have 4 or 5 days before the waves are straight up too much for my current strength.
So what's the best bang for the buck set addition? (Please note, that if possible I'd prefer not to buy something hyper inflated).
The three ideas I've been toying with:
-Magical Marbles
-Hubrid Nox Shield (I have enough Negg points to boost myself to 125 defense if needed)
-Crisp Blue Tunic (overkill for my health, but a 200 hp differential is a lot...intel boost would be easy)
-Another constant (?)
Thoughts?
I'm leaning towards the magical marbles. Added to solar flare, I get two free turns to do a pretty heavy amount of damage.
I'm thinking the shield isn't the best idea, cuz my d won't get much higher than 125 anytime soon, and it's not going to win me any battles.
The CBT I'm kinda down on cuz it's so darn expensive right now. Also, the GHS is pretty decent for my level.
I'm really not into the idea of another constant. The Hanso Charm is a great number 2, especially since I can "game" the opponents to go after the ones that are dark icon-centric.
Thanks so much for the help!

What are the chances you think Lens Flare changes? They said they reserve the right to alter abilities... and it's pretty obvious that lens flare is overpowered. If you have lens flare and a 100% freezer, the first two turns of any battle are free. If you have warlock's rage that makes three turns. I don't think they'll let that last for too long.
