    I was surprised to find a series for it, too. now i'll have to read all of them! ^_^

     

    Wait a second, there are more Wicked novels? Please tell me the titkes. I read the first one after going to London to see the musical and I loved the book

     

    I just finished Moon Called by Patricia Briggs. it fell a little short of my expectations, but considering I bought it three or four years ago, I guess it's only to be expected. lol

    i'm stuck between the Thieves' Guild and The Sway. it's so hard to pick!! i guess i'll wait and see if there's any immediate prize or such, and go from there. if not, i'll probably have to go with the Sway because of their symbol. =D it's so... enigmatic! besides, Enigma is one of my favorite artists. ^_^

     

    poor Trancelucent is dressed up in for the wrong team, then... :(

     

    Edit: Nope! i couldn't force myself to pick Sway. just as my mouse hovered over the button to join Sway, I immediately had to switch out and join the Thieves. XD

    i finished Fellowship of the Ring two days ago and i think tomorrow i'll start The Two Towers. it's funny that i finally end up reading these books now that The Hobbit has come out, but I've just never had much motivation to read them - i've always despised the Lord of the Rings movies with a passion. But I'm actually enjoying the books. I especially like the descriptions of Lothlórien. =)

     

    i also read King Richard II yesterday during a long train ride. i loved the soliloquy of the gardener in particular, and i could just picture the discomfort of any nobles who might've seen the play. XD heh heh. it was great, but i think Macbeth's still my favorite Shakespeare play.

    Hi, just to let people know... I was meant to receive cajoruth in the werelupe chain on the 8th - hasn't arrived yet - user mac_ss still has her. So apologies to spockys_sockies2 - that's why you haven't got her yet.

     

    Then got a neomail today saying 'You are set to receive Fire_TDN on Nov 10th. You'll send the pet on to tdnalp.'

     

    By the looks of that name it might be the end of the chain - but if not, I obviously can't send two on at once!

    Ooh! That first picture's so ridiculously awesome - and exciting! =D (well, honestly, everything's exciting now that Obama's pretty much won ^_^)

     

    I like the second site, too - the first photo reminds me of Clockwork Codebreaker and Time Tunnel on neopets. XD I can't wait for the photos that will come from it! Space is so pretty ^_^

    I'm personally leaning towards Obama. It's not that he hasn't made mistakes or that some of his policies aren't atrocious, but besides Romney's policies - which everyone here seems to have already covered adequetly enough for me :) - there's the fact that he tends to say a lot of really stupid things without thinking: Insulting China, the whole 47% thing... not to mention his original comments on that ridiculous anti-Islam film.... If he's elected president, he'll have resposbilities at the internationtal level that he won't be able to "take back" when one phrase could set off a war. Besides, I'm hoping if Obama is re-elected, he'll stop worrying about re-election and start implementing some actual change.

     

    Well, anyway, here's a really funny youtube video with a (sort-of true) overview of both candidates if anyone wants some less serious commentary. =D (i couldn't resist)

    Meiko - Stuck On You and in the background my hubby playing Dead Island on his PS3 so therefore the noises of zombies and the sounds of machetes slicing off their heads :sick02: ... pleasant huh? lol

     

    lol it's probably akin to listening to Ninja Gaiden 2 in the background with people's limbs being chopped off... yuck. XD

     

    but other than that, i'm listening to Too Much to Ask by Avril Lavigne.

    Oh my gosh guys. I found this article yesterday and I just had to share! 6 adorable cat behaviors with shockingly evil

    Let me know if you LOL at the picture with the kitty attacking the vacumm cleaner. :P

    I also found it very interesting that cats are in a way "mimicing" snakes when they hiss and pull there ears back.

     

    ROTFL that vacuum cleaner picture seriously was too cute! i've never really thought of cats as anything other than little arrogant snots, though, so I still like them. lol. I'd never heard about the snake-mimicking thing, but it makes sense, so for now I'll believe it. ^_^ The article was obviously written by someone who doesn't know dogs well (or was just being saracastic...again) - since dogs have the same variety in tones as cats do. But that site is hilarious! I just spent a whole hour reading other things on there! :P

     

    Also, someone left a comment I find worth repeating: "Cats can be jerks, but at the end of the day they're still nicer than humans. : )" -Poet-C

     

    So true.

     

     

    Anyway, on the subject of cats, I found this on Howstuffworks.com - it's about purring:

     

    "Three sounds are unique to cats. The chortle, a happy greeting sound, sounds a lot like a quick, high-pitched chuckle. There's also that strange chirping or chattering noise cats make that's usually reserved for when they see birds outside the window. This is the elusive wacka-wacka, a term coined by famed cat cartoonist B. Kliban. Finally, the purr is, of course, the most sublime of all feline sounds. It's also one of the most hotly debated.

     

    "While a supremely contented cat will purr loudly, so will an extremely nervous or stressed one. This leads some researchers to think cats do it to reassure themselves. It's not even completely clear how cats purr. Most of the wild members of the cat family purr, but the household variety of cat is about the only one that can make the sound on both the exhale and the inhale."

     

    Has anyone else noticed their cats purred when stressed out? I always thought it was kind of odd... I also think it's really interesting how housecats in particular can purr both ways (inhaling and exhaling) while most other cats purr one way or not at all. And, although many books I've read on tigers says that the four "big cats" don't purr at all, apparently it's debatable. this video's interesting XD

    ...well, I thought it was fine. Sure, it's over a few sentences long, but Qullaso has a few different points. (if you read any of the debate pages on here, many people write more...?)

     

    Anyway, I think the idea is interesting. There is a TED talk that i vaguely remember, now that i think about... I think it's cool that Planetary Resources plans to do this. I'm not sure it's entirely possible or realistic, though - particularly since the U.S. government hasn't been keen on putting money towards space programs like NASA recently. Considering that we're rapidly moving towards carrying capacity, though, and since genetically altered crops probably aren't going to allow the carrying capacity of the earth to stand us humans much longer, space exploration is really a good idea now.

     

    sidenote: but i can't say i'm a nerd. I just like Star Trek, astronomy, and environmental studies. lol ^_^
