It's all very complex. I had only traded once - my UC Mutant Hissi for a Maraquan Draik. I think the value was on equal terms, because on websites which explained the rarity, UC Mutants aren't very valuable or desired. Nowadays, I'm not sure one could trade a UC for a Draik. Regardless, I know Plushies tend to be of most value, while it starts to decrease from there. I don't think Koi's, despite being Limited Edition, are a commonly desired Neopet. I have a well named Chomby that no one seems to desire, either. :( People usually look out for UC's, or grand painted Plushie/Royal/Maraquan Neopets.

Wow, congratulations! There are many nice people here on the website. I got a MSPP lend for free, in fact, most of my rarest avvies were given out to me for free. As well, one person bought me the item I had needed for my first ever FFQ, just because I said it was my first!
-
Are there really less players? Are there any statistics to back up this decline? I'm not stating that I find it unbelievable, merely, I'd like to see the stats. Regardless, Neopets has altered in the course of it's many years. It has to. Nearly all free forms of entertainment now have extra advantages to purchasing things with money - all of my free applications for my phone do, and even Nintendo is starting this, but offering new levels on their new Mario game - "Super Mario Brothers #2" - but these new levels cost additional money! Even if they do not, they will place in plenty of advertisements to litter the place.
It's true it's silly that now people can literally buy advantages *tell me, how is it fair that I was only able to obtain a FFQ after 10+ years only after buying a FFQ cookie*? But it's profitable and it's become the norm. Online games make money. But they still allow you to play the game without money, too. Unfortunately, I do feel like TNT places a lot of emphasis on their NC items, which annoys me somewhat. It's not "balanced".
But this isn't a topic on all of that. It's a game and it doesn't offer many new things. People get bored. I know that I do. I always leave and come back. I'm a good player, though, who maintains my account and have had very little trouble with TNT. As the environment itself is hardly "engaging" (ie; it's mostly a white website with pictures that move a bit, you can't physically move around, ect), it just tends to get dull and tedious, even with the plots.
-
That's..really...odd. Perhaps they should actually find out WHY, if there is no account associated with it, you can obtain a lost password? I think you should try to appeal to another support member, at least one who bothers to read what you're saying.
-
I was in the same situation. I simply put my words in red to catch the moderators attention, and requested that they delete the post. I received no penalty, thankfully. I do find it somewhat odd that this board doesn't give members their own option to delete their own posts; but perhaps that may be a good option in our future?

I use the free version of AVG and I haven't experienced any problems with it. It updates regularly. I have both for my computer and my phone. It's caught a lot of viruses on my computer. @__@; I never go and buy them. Norton is a rip-off. It frequently comes pre-installed as a trial and takes up room when it expires, basically become an annoying virus itself.

I think variety is better. Invisible can be cool to customize. I'm sure they're some people who love them. I don't see the appeal beyond that, though.

Marriage equality. Homosexuals should have the same rights as hetereosexuals.
End discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, ect.
Ensure all the starving get their food, especially in the poorer countries. Just because we can't see them doesn't mean they're not suffering.
End many common diseases, including all types of cancer.
Everyone has medical care.
Everyone has a home.
All education should be free.
Animal Welfare needs to be better established, especially for chickens and cows. They deserve to live comfortably.
Religion should no longer be an excuse for violence.

Oh wow. About time. The Battledome has been the same way since I first started playing on this website (I was 12 - I'm now 23, so you can figure out just how un-updated it is. I'm surprised that they actually got away with it being neglected for so long. There are tons of people here who love to Battle. But I'm sure the update will be fantastic for the pound and will make many people happy.

Hey,
So, I reviewed your story. I want to say that you have the potential to be a great writer, but you do need to grasp your past/present tenses firstly. I made some alterations based around this - try to just stick to one tense. I made your story all past tense. Also, I notice that you like to use "flowery" language - or more commonly, "big" words. They are beautiful and add a sense of maturity, but in this story, they just seem out of place. I used to do the same thing as you, thinking my writing would appear better. It doesn't work. It just annoys the audience.
And I promise you that I can be trusted on, at least a bit, as I've made it into the Times once already. (You can check the trophy out on my user look-up.)
I have a lot of trouble with grammar too, trust me! So this was good practise. So, review the alterations I made (I bolded most, but some words I deleted and there's no indictation.) Again, I AM NOT PERFECT AND I'm sure I have missed something. So hopefully someone can double check me. :)
Also, I hadn't done a spell check, so please, review your spelling. :) I'm too tired right now. xD One more thing: You forget to put capitals on Titles. Any time you mention a Neopet species, make sure you captilize their specie's name!

"Gather around, my darlings!” A middle-aged green Acara named Myrtle boomed.
She paced back and forth until almost all of us orphans were in sight and had our full attention on her.
With a glee-filled face, Myrtle lead us to the other side of the neatly-kept building. Once we reached a pink-painted door, she turned, and with great enthusiasm exclaimed; “It’s Friday, which means..?”
Several little faces lit up with avidity due to the realization of what the day has in for them. It was Fun Friday, the time of the week reserved for interactive games, discussions, contests and other forms of entertainment.
Although most of the things listed were everyday practices for us, we considered Friday to be more ‘official’.
As the ever-so-lively Myrtle accompanied us in, I saw her face light up with a memory.
She was probably reminiscing of the time when it was her being guided to the very same room for the same purpose. She has told us her story a hundred times. During her time here, the warmth of the staff had brought her the greatest relief. The staff had been very indifferent. They had provided her with what she lacked and found her a new home. Luckily, her owner was a nice young girl who had dreams of helping unfortunate Neopians. It was due to her owner, and Myrtle’s own personal experiences, that working in the Neopian Adoption Agency became her one true calling.
To open up the day’s itinerary, one of the older staff, TiffX, (a pretty pink Ixi), proposed a toast to the new orphans and to the old ones for being able to stay courageous despite their laborious circumstances. Nothing but kind words came out of the amiable being, making everyone feel appreciated.
Well, not quite everyone.
Not me, at least.

My filed name is XxR3hz0rsx_ . Ever since I was abandoned, I went by the pseudonym, ‘Razor’, as it’s the nearest I can decipher the name I had. My friends consider me to be a highly introverted yellow Bori. I barely share my thoughts with anyone, but I guess this is apparent to because I’m deeply pained. I am pained because of many things (Rayna'a note: why list "several" when you don't actually list several?); like my abandonment, a matter that is not very insignificant with fellow orphans, the fact that I’m the pet to have stayed here the longest, and my name.
Ah, my name.
In my perspective, to have a name means to have an existence. It’s a simple acknowledgement that you’re an individual being in this complicated world. At times, I feel as if everyone is defining my character due to my name.
A beautiful name equates to a beautiful life. Other pets would look at you with a level of respect for sharing a King’s name. Having a name that barely sounds like a mumble, in contrast, would cause them to turn their heads away.
But of course she didn’t know that. She didn’t care. She did not even consider that the sign of me being here consisted of a string of incoherent characters. She ‘blessed’ me with such a disgusting alias. My name is the one reason she abandoned me. As she battled with her own emotions in the front of the Neopian Pound, I heard the reasons that drove her to leave a fearful Bori.
“Oh, you’re likely to be an alpha pet, but that name is hopeless. I didn’t think it through when I christened you. Well, it’s too late to be saying this now. Oops."
That was months ago. Three seasons have passed, and it’d only be a matter of days before I spend my birthday here. I haven’t had any luck of attracting a new owner. I’ve watched friends come and go with their new families, and I’d be lying if I say that’s not one of my biggest dreams. The probability of me making it on my own was pretty low at the time, since I was young, had no credibility, and all in all, I was seemingly unimpressive.
My name is just one of the unimpressive things about me.
My name is one of the reasons I’m still stuck in this melancholic place. It is the reason as to why no one would take me in and give me a chance to prove I’m actually worth something.
Oh, the things I’d do if I had my own home. Maybe I could freely visit Faerieland with a loving owner, take a tour in the Mystery Island or listen to my favourite band, Sticks N Stones, in Tyrannia? Stories about adventures and fun in those locations have most certainly reached this place, from people walking by to visitors. They would animatedly talk about how gorgeous these places are, and I would listen with intent for their vivid descriptions. It’s as though being there is just a daydream away.
I just want to have a loving family.
But I can’t.

JULY 20TH
A new day began. The Adoption Agency welcomed three new pets last night, with an inclusion of two red Peophins who were shyly eating soup in the kitchen when I woke up, and a green kiko, busy with the other pets in the playground. Owners came and went throughout the day, scouting for a new addition in their family. A few lucky pets were successfully adopted by owners. Some of those pets who had been here for nearly a week, and some who had been for months. The bitterness of not being chosen has been creeping all over me, but those pets deserved a new home. Each and every one of us do. But it’s just not my time. Not yet.
Look at those hopefuls. They think someone would immediately adopt them. That blue Kacheek definitely won’t as his name is unpronounceable and he’s really scrawny. He wouldn’t stand a chance in the battledome. No one would want that. They would just assume he’ll be a waste of space. MaryGold, the yellow Ogrin, stands a chance however. Her name speaks of glory and smells of flowers.
Why can’t I have that?
******
Owners, carers, trainers- whatever you prefer to call them, are the most awaited visitors in this agency. They have many reasons for coming in here. Some wish to get a new pet to train for the battledome, hone into a pop star, educate to be a genius, dress up to be beautiful or just take in for a chance to be what they want. Some of their reasons are very sincere and beneficial for us - the homeless and unwanted. And I am thankful for the existence of those people. Not even for myself, but for those who have been lucky enough to be taken in by them.
The only tickets out of here include an impressive color, promising strength or intelligence, and yes - a name of a champion.
I have none of that. My IQ is on par with most notable pets, how would they know? They never bothered to do a double take, as my name reeks of failure.
How do I make an impression?
How do I show them I’m worth it?
How?

JULY 27TH
It’s finally my birthday! The other orphans had prepared a little celebration for me, with the permission and help of Myrtle and the agency manager, Mariel the Pink Uni. She loves everyone, though she may come across as stern to new orphans. I believe she just want everything to be in place. The same way as I want myself to be in the appropriate place, which is in a warm, nice Neopian home.
That’s exactly what I’m wishing for today;
a new life, with a new family, in a new home.

3.00PM NST
“HEADS UP!”
I ducked right on time, avoiding the red ball going fast towards me.
The green Kiko from last week approached me with panic and caution. I found it interesting that he was still here.
“Are you alright? Pardon me, I hit the ball too hard in the, er, wrong direction,” He apologized, wrapping his stubby arms around me.
I flashed back a heart-felt smile, as he seemed nice.
“All’s good, just be careful next time!”
This prompted a chuckle from him. He briefly introduced himself, Jecho. We initiated small talk and he greeted me with a happy birthday before heading back to his group.
As I pondered the reason on why a pet like him was stuck here, I heared someone call for me
Myrtle ran to me, filled with excitement, encapsulating (Rayna note: Encapsulating is sort of a long word, perhaps use a different one? It's not incorrect, it's just kind of out of place.) me in a big hug.
“Oh, Razor, you have to come with me, now! Don’t ask!”
And that’s what I did.
******
3.15PM NST
Myrtle dragged me with such passion through to the adoption desk. I wondered why she was so rushed. Could it be..?
From what I could see, Mariel was chatting to a nice-looking young boy. He appeared sharp, with his square-framed glasses and outgoing style. One look and you’d know he’s the quiet but approachable kind. He acknowledges my gaze and greets me with a shy smile, which I return back.
Mariel turned to me and held me, “Razor, I’d like you to meet Ken. He’s here looking to adopt a pet. He wants you to be his friend.”
I was speechless.
“Do you know my real name?” I finally ask.
He nods.
My heart stops.
“Why do you want me as a friend then? There’s a lot of other pets in there that are more.. noticeable.”
Ken puts on a thoughtful face, and answers, “The ladies have really been talking you up. I know a little bit of your story. I heard you like Sticks N Stones? I like them too. And just now, even though you have the opportunity of being adopted, you humbled yourself down and implied you’re not a very impressive pet. It takes a brave Bori to do that”.
Mariel and Myrtle started tearing up because of his words, and I must admit my emotions were slowly consuming me. But I straightened up my act.
“You really think so?” I had feared that this was all just a big joke.
That time, Ken laughed.
“Yes! It’s amusing that you doubt yourself. I think you’re pretty cool.”
He called me ‘pretty cool’. That was the best compliment anyone had ever given me.
I joined in his laughter until the two ladies jumped in as well. After composing herself, Mariel went on the formal adoption process. Ken interviewed me a little bit and I answered all his queries earnestly. We really shared a few interests, which made getting along a lot easier.
“Razor, I don’t really mind your name. It’s just for documentation. It doesn’t really matter. I will help you become anything you want. You can be called anything you prefer. I can even call you ‘Lord Razor’ if that’s what floats your boat.” He joked as a response to my earlier qualms about my name being a bad feature.
That guy deserved a hug from me, and that’s what I gave him.
Before saying my goodbyes to my orphan friends, I had to confirm just one last thing.
“Ken, I don’t want to be your friend.”
He looked aghast upon hearing my statement. I even heard him gasp.
“I can’t be your friend. I-I want to be a part of your family.”
The tension in the air relaxed as he heard the rest of my final conditions. He did another one of the Shy Ken smiles which I was starting to get used to.
“But of course, Razor. If that’s what you really want.”

So,
I've been on hiatus as of late. But I wanted to come up here to see all of the lovely members celebrating the success of this website. It is an awesome community and fantastic fansite, and we're now going to obtain a bunch of new users.
Congratulations to everyone here! That's an amazing accomplishment!
-
Hi, welcome back! :D Nice to see you. I'm Rayna. I haven't been on as frequently as I used to be on (been very busy!), but I keep checking this place out.
-
He's so old now. >_< I remember the first Meridell versus Darigan plot, this was made RIGHT after it by Adam. xD Why is he still grouchy when his land has been revived? Anyway, I'm going to go and check it out now. I REALLY want that rare Jester avvie, but it's been years so far, and no such luck... :(
King Skarl listens as you tell your joke...
Q: What do you do if fierce Peophins has eaten too much tin of olives?
A: With sporting a circlet of The Art of Baraga Bruce bomberries!
Well looky there... You got a chuckle out of him.
King Skarl Says:
*heh* That was a pretty good joke. I give it a 674 out of 1000.
Here, have a little something from my kitchen. I hope you like it.
King Skarl hands you:
Courgette Bread
He also gives you 33 Neopoints!

Thanks guys,
I was really upset last night. It was fun, but awkward. I called in sick today, really couldn't care if they get angered or not. It wouldn't have mattered had I not considered them friends - and I kind of had. Now, I don't know, any sort of "I'm sorry, I couldn't make it", or whatever, would have probably helped me feel better. The one guy showed up at 11:20 PM after his two jobs. He totally cheered me up.
I did have people come; more important people, it's just hard when you know, go to their parties *where seemingly everyone shows up*, and wonder; "What did I do wrong?"
Blah. And it sucks I'm still sensitive into this stuff. :/ But I won't make that mistake again. Co-Workers aren't friends.
Thank you so much for the birthday greetings and sorry, I had to vent. Online friends actually help a lot. ^^

Coca Cola, much sweeter in Canada. In Russia, Pepsi, has Coca Cola tastes like how Diet Coke does here in Canada. But in Canada, definitely Coca Cola.

So August 15, 2012, was my birthday.
And not one of my supposed "friends" from my work bothered to show up. Actually, scratch that, one who hardly knew me,did.
And his compassion was remarkable.
I'm disgusted by my work mates.
I don't want to work there as a supervisor, my desire to lead has diminished.
I have been bullied much in my elementary and teenager life.
The one work mate shall be appreciated; the rest, frowned upon.
I don't know why I couldn't have convinced them to come for my special day.
But I did have my 2 younger sisters show up and my best friend.
Eff this popularity stuff.
I'm 23. How disgusting.

If you do NeoCash, the Faerie Quest cookies provide one random quest per day, guaranteed. This can increase your chances because you aren't guaranteed one every day on Neo just regularly. Same with the Faerie Quest event that has occurred the last couple of years. Daily quests for a few weeks. Definitely increasing your chances there too! [/color]]
I had played Neopets for 10 years (see my first account, Raynas392), and I never got one. Ever. Then, I purchased 4 Fortune Cookies. On the fourth week of using them, I got my first one ever. And painted Zamaery Water. So, if you have cash to spare on Neopets - you have a very increased chance. I'm certain I would never have gotten one had I not used the Fortune Quest cookie. They aren't too pricey either.
-
When I had to re-make my account (due to my original getting scammed), I only had one pet for the longest time - ChristelleFairy. She was a Gelert and it was so much easier to make her powerful and not spend vast amounts of NP. It made perfect sense to me. Eventually, however, I cave, and started making/adopting more. I couldn't help it. I just felt like I wanted a variety. But I totally get where you are coming from and I wish I had the "strength" to devote myself to one pet. I feel overwhelmed with all of mine already, to the point where my pets on sides are neglected often. I'm even considering putting some up for adoption.
ChristelleFairy, Purcey7, Friepie, Ayrza, Kia, Zamaery and Princess will NEVER be adopted out. Some of them have been with me wayyy too long. xD
-
As an old time Neopet's player, I'd love to witness a website which holds true to the original Neopets - but more so for comparison. I know why they're restricted however - they use the Neopet's characters, which are obviously copyrighted.
This is the first time I've heard of such sites!
Edit - Looks like our members have went there; check out this old thread from 2011 -
http://www.tdnforums...153#entry494153
Another edit: oldneo is closed from what I can tell.

We don't have Chick-A-Fillet here in Canada. Actually, the only reason I ever knew about it was because of this recent issue. I barely buy from KFC so I probably wouldn't purchase from them too often regardless. It wouldn't be too intelligent for them to state such a thing here in Canada, seeing as homosexual marriage is allowed. That doesn't mean we don't have people who discriminate, there's still many of them out there. Oh, and guess what? Marriage is essentially normal here. People of opposite sex are still marrying! Go figure!
But I have heard about all of those people who went to Chick-A-Fillet to support them. And this disgusts me. How Christian is it to support a place which indirectly wants DEATH to homosexuals? That's just sickening. It's because they don't know the full story - they just think Chick-A-Fillet is supporting "traditional" marriage and "family values", but they don't get that they are donating to people who condone death to others. I hope that's it, anyway. If so many Americans openly went there KNOWING what the people have done that Chick-A-Fillet supports, well, that's really disgusting and wrong.

She looks great! The customization you picked looks perfect and really compliments her color. :D
Awe. thank you Spritzie!!! You always compliment by styles even when I feel like I have no concept! I used the last of my NC though, so, I may have to buy more and spruce up Kia, the Water Wocky. xD Man, it looks accidentally like I'm Water obsessed! Anyway, I was VERY fortunate that some (seemingly) rich individual gave me such a great item, and now it's time to pass on the karma! :DD I think I'll be helping out more people now, especially from the kindness I received today. :3

Hey guys,
So after contemplating it, I decided to paint one of my oldest Neopets (Zamaery the Zafara) into the beautiful Water Colour! She looks brilliant. Thanks for help. =D
http://www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=Zamaery
and congrats on your FFQ :) what was the item she asked for ? :)She asked for a difficult one *I think*, called "Rest In Peace Chicken". I could only find one in the trades; and I have no idea it's worth. BUT, a nice user decided to send me the item when I had posted how excited I was to finally get one after 10 years. The users on the Quest Boards are VERY kind.
-
Yeah I'm definitely leaning towards water. ^^ Which is exciting. My boyfriend feels it looks like a Water Bunny lol!
-
OK, so, to help clairfy my thoughts:
Water is pretty rare and I LOVE, LOVE how they had designed her! It's beautiful!
Plushie is less rare, right? I just like how colourful Plushie is. Unfortunately, Plushie is NOT as cute as previously..
Now, as for Pteri, I've always sorta wanted a Fearie one, too. But I'm guessing I could probably afford it and he, being one of my few male pets. may look to femimine.
But Wraith is WAYYY cool, too. xD
MWAHHAHAHA. I'm so cool!
Sections of the site that need a revamp
in Neopets Debate
Posted
I've been playing this website since I was 12, (I'm 23 now), and lemme tell you, there's still plenty of pages which have always remained the same. I'm surprised that with such a large amount of staff and money, they've left many places untouched or fail to revamp them after many years. In some manner, it's annoying. They had no difficulty totally altering the Neopet artwork and making the outfits back in, what was it, 2007? Or whenever they had changed it, yet they've still left many pages as old as heck.
Lets begin with this page: http://www.neopets.com/objects.phtml
Firstly, if you notice, they list all of the helpful links such as your shop, Notice Board, NeoHomes, ect, on top of the page. This is actually somewhat an eye sorer. I comprehend that it's a lot of places to go, but it's boring and looks sloppy. It's not very direct or easy for new users to navigate. Why not make it back into a colourful image? Why not make it a bit more eye catching? Yes, OK, they have the upper bar for the site, which doesn't even contain a link to your Safety Deposit Box, but still. They used to use a banner. It was cute. It looked better. It's been this way for years and is quite dull.
The page which lists all of the guilds HAS NOT been updated at since my many years of playing; it's clearly reflected in the artwork.
http://www.neopets.com/guilds/index.phtml
Poogle Races HAS NOT altered the least bit in the 11 years I have been with the site;
http://www.neopets.com/faerieland/poogleracing.phtml
And this war occurred before I had even went on Neopets;
http://www.neopets.com/prehistoric/village.phtml
There's probably more. It's only recently, after many, many years, they've finally done some major updates. But did it really need to take as long as it ended up being?
