  2. Because I'm still relatively new I have a fairly long shopping list-

    Lap map pieces

Paintbrushes for my ixi (<- needs to be double painted) and the adopted pet I have at the moment

ALL the clothes/customisation stuff I want

    Custard Snowbunny

    Petpet lab map

    Furniture shopping spree

Use the rest on my soon to be gallery.

Although even after all that I'd probably still have heaps left over :rolleyes_anim:

  3. Just out of interest, what operating system are you running on?

EDIT: I just realised how random that sounds/looks. I'm wondering because I'm running MacOX Lion (I think that's what it's called) and that is ridiculously slow on neopets, especially with habitarium. Could that be your problem?

  4. I'm not one or the other, and I don't think most women/girls/whatever are one or the other either.

But just for me personally, I'll take the video game store over a fashion show, but I can still run in high heels. Bit of both :)

EDIT: For the record, I don't like fighting games, although that's more that I refuse to play fighting games around my little sister, who I don't think's old enough to be exposed to that.

  5. I was browsing for PB's and saw someone who obviously had little idea of how to trade. Their wish list was along the lines of "I want 200k but I'll take 100k less", so I offered 100k on the lot. I'm still waiting for a response, but now that I've seen this I feel bad. I might withdraw it tomorrow.

  6. Sweetdang, I'm pretty sure either the good captain will give you change, or at least one nice person on the boards or at the TP would be willing to swap you for two five dubloon coins :)

Got a forgotten shore map piece. Three down, six to go :)

  7. To look at this from an Australian point of view, the big reason our government won't legalise gay marriage? The definition of marriage:

    mar·riage

    noun

    1.a.

the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc.

That's the government's big argument. Underneath that:

    b. a similar institution involving partners of the same gender: gay marriage.

So essentially, as soon as a new word is made up that describes gay marriage, tah-dah! Legalised gay marriage in Australia!

And if you'll believe that, you're nuttier than squirrel poop.

  9. I am a third year public high school student, and I have had no more than a term of sex ed this year, two terms since the start of high school. That's twice a week for ten weeks, twenty lessons, take away two days for sicknesses, on average, and another two for non-sex ed excursions, also on average, that's sixteen lessons per 1.5 years that teachers are expected to fill students in on all areas of sex ed. Admittedly, I am in a program that means my schedule is slightly more fixed than other students, but from what I have heard, there is only one term per year of compulsory sex ed.

Abortion is taught as an easy, responsible method to get rid of a baby. On one hand, from a lot of points of view it makes sense to make it seem like an attractive option for teenage girls - preggers? Just pop down to your local abortion clinic and no harm done! - it'll keep possible teenage mums in school instead of having to go to increasingly regular doctor's appointments - not to mention the high risk of dropping out - , it means the government has to provide for one less child and it gives parents peace of mind that, heaven forbid their little angel gets knocked up! they don't have to face awkward questions.

However, this method completely ignores the psychological, social and physical effects that abortion can have on a mother. Quite literally, whenever abortion was mentioned in the classroom, my teacher would talk about it for a while, and then tack on the end: "However, remember that abortion can have severe physical and emotional effects on the mother" and it was always left at that. Of course we were also taught about birth control, but they were marketed poorly in comparison to abortion.

In my opinion, abortion should be the choice of the mother. She is the one who will have to carry it to full term, she is the one who should ultimately decide what to do with the child once it is born. If a farmer grows a crop, shouldn't he decide if he wants to sell it, keep it or eat it? (Not that I'm suggesting that one should sell or eat one's child... guess the analogy got away from me for a bit there.) If she knows the child will have a disability, and that its short lifespan will most likely be completely spent in pain, it should be her choice as to whether or not she brings it into this world. Miracles happen, after all.

Of course, you'll notice my heavy use of "should". In a perfect world, the mother would have complete control over all these situations, and be able to think for herself without any influences or forced actions from family, friends or father. She "should" have access to an abortion clinic, wherever she may be. Oddly enough, we do not live in a perfect world.

Abortion is highly emotional. So is having a baby. The most important thing, to me, is to always give people the choice, and to give them hard facts about exactly what's going on. It's not about right or wrong for everyone. It's about right or wrong for the individual. Individual.

And in response to April - from what I hear, for every person who uses abortion as protection, there are many more who thank their god that there are abortion clinics available for if an accident happens.

  10. I'm not sure about Ibi, as I don't know what to paint her yet. What's there is more of an interim measure until TNT releases an Ixi colour I like. Definitely keeping the books and background though, her personality demands it :rolleyes_anim: She's my little scientist.

Choc Ogrin: He's the least developed of my characters, really really not sure what to do with him. All I really know is I don't want to cover up his markings with clothes. Suggestions? :D

Desert Xwee: He's mostly shepherd, but I felt he should have some more clothes to make up for the other two XD

In regards to your Lenny, much better. Something about the background is irking with me, but I wouldn't take my opinion too seriously. I think she's beautiful.

EDIT: been playing around with dress to impress, this is what I've got:

    Ibi: http://newimpress.openneo.net/outfits/63571

Tried to keep her bookishness but also to choose clothes that complemented her colour

    Choc Ogrin: http://newimpress.openneo.net/outfits/61028

Thinking more of an adventurer theme for him, built around the jacket. Bit iffy on the bg

    Desert Xwee: http://newimpress.openneo.net/outfits/61032

Trying for a kid-goes-on-adventure theme, not sure how well I pulled it off.

Also, have you tried some of the altadorian backgrounds for your Lenny? The ones that are all column-ny? Just something I wondered if you'd tried...

  11. Alright, well I've been playing neopets on and off for about five or six years now, maybe a bit longer. I really enjoy plots (hence finishing the altador plot so quickly), and right now I really want the secret lab map, which I am about 2/5 of the way there, np wise. I've been lurking here pretty much since I created this account, so I decided to join up.

IRL I enjoy acting, being the class genius and plotting world domination daydreaming. :laughingsmiley:

  12. Nifuel: 9.5/10

I really like this because it looks like it has a bit more of a story behind it. I took off .5 of a point because the mossy rock seems a bit pointless and out of place, but aside from that, really nice :)

    My pets:

    The above two are dreamies.
