In addition, he's the last air nomad - there's nobody else to teach him airbending. And airbending is not the sort of bending you use to kill. And the creators said on the 2nd Avatar Magazine (wow! that sounded like a plug.) that : they are going to have to change the name of the show to "Avatar : One of the Last Airbenders".
