The same press release as the one cited in our earlier post, on the Altador Cup - launching today - gives word on Neopets.com's teaming up with popular childrens multimedia company Nickelodeon.

Beginning June 23rd, Neopets.com will air 'mini-shows' in between regular Nick programming. Including multiple endings for each minishow, they'll include appearances from Lab Ray Scorchio, Sophie the Swamp Witch, Trunkard petpet amongst others. A second source, listed below, tells us that there'll be 20 of the short films, each last 15 seconds.

More interestingly, perhaps, is the news that viewers will be able to find 'hidden clues' within each one that will help them to solve trivia questions and puzzles on the main Neopets.com site. It's very likely that these Mini-Shows will also be revealed on Neovision, the latest tool unleashed a few days ago.

Kyra Reppen, Neopets' Senior Vice President and General Manager, commented:

"The Neopets Mini-Shows bring together Nickelodeon's powerhouse of expertise in making content for kids and tweens with the talented creative team at the Neopets studio. These animated shorts will bring to life the characters and adventures that make up the virtual world of Neopia."

Ms. Reppen was appointed to lead the company by owner's Viacom on September 26th, 2006, replacing former CEO Doug Dohring who stayed in an advisory capacity. Notably, she's worked with Nickelodean a great deal before - she ran NickJR.com, Nick's online site to accompany it's TV content aimed at a younger audience.

The Neopets logo has now appeared at the bottom of the Nick.com US website, and the site is carrying large adverts that lead to Neopets.com. We're unsure as yet whether it will broadcast on any of the other regional Nick channels, particularly Nick Asia based in Singapore; there are many Neopians there, and Neopets Inc has a whole Neopets Asia team based permanantly out there. Nickelodeon has channels worldwide, but this may well be limited to just the US.

If we have any more updates, we'll be sure to let you know! [Original Source, 2nd Source]
