Help with hatching a draik

Yay! Won a pirate draik egg from the forgotten shore. Then I found a pet in the pound with a name I love. Mandrake1970. I was born in 71 but you can't win them all, right? Anyway, I love Mandrake, and I thought it would fit a draik very nicely. But then I realized, I think, you have to have an empty pet slot in order to hatch a draik, and you cannot separate a current pet from it's name other than morphing or painting it. So my dilemma is, is there any way to hatch my draik into Mandrake1970, which is currently a blue Korbat?

Unfortunately, you can't. Draik eggs only hatch into new pets which you name yourself. The only way to get Mandrake to be a draik is using a draik morphing potion.

You could also sell the Draik egg and buy a Pirate Draik Morphing Potion (I think those are the cheapest, but I can't say for sure). Another option would be transfering the Korbat to a side and after hatching the Draik, naming it Mandrake1971.
