Dcoolb
Hey, I usually spend most of my time chatting on the AC (avatar chat, for y'all that don't know), and it got me thinking, even though TDN is the best obviously, it would be a great debate to see who could support the neoboards over TDN! If there isn't any interest, then whatever, but I thought it would be cool to see if anyone could bring up points for such a slanted topic. As an example: The neoboards are a bunch of broad topics, and you can find more "specific" groups to talk about subjects that are online and share that same specific interest. Anyway, hope this is a solid debate to go on the "On-site vs Off-site". Like I said, I <3 TDN and personally think it's better overall, but it would be cool to see the opinions of others on the site that the debaters would have to go over! :P chubit
deboratibi
I actually joined TDN because I was tired of the neoboards and wanted a better place to talk about neopets. I used to have a lot of fun there, but I just got tired of all the excessive snarkiness and sarcasm (I hate that people think this makes them cool), and the trolling. People here on TDN are so much nicer and mature, I love it! I also like that the rules here are easier to follow. I always felt paranoid posting on the neoboards because of all the warnings, silencing and freezing (that never happened to me, but I figured it might be just a matter of time). bradsmaroo
Yes, I also feel like there is a screening process in order to use the forum on TDN. It seems like there's more of a mature crowd on here, that don't use a million smileys, or light blue unreadable font. Haven't seen any trolls... The search function is good too, so I don't post a topic that's already been posted, just look up an answer to a question I may have. The only thing the boards have over TDN is quick response for faerie quests.
chubit
Agree about the search function, I've typed in some key words and found answers to things instantly, where on the neoboards I'd have to wait... and bump... and wait.. and bump... (you get my drift). Tied into that, it's the fact that you don't lose your post if it gets pushed off the front page, or isn't used for a few hours. On the Pound Chat, you can go away to make a cup of coffee and found your board has been pushed into oblivion in the 20 minutes you were gone!! Also, pro-TDN boards is the fact that you actually get to know the people you chat to. The neoboards are pretty hard to meet people on unless they were originally from your guild or you add them as a NF (and make sure you instantly go and save them as "met on PC talking about pirate Ixi" otherwise you'll never remember how you met them) the people you chat to are mostly there to ask for a CC vote or a fleeting request to adopt you UC grey kougra. However, the neoboards are FAR more active, which is very useful for GMT people like me that finds the TDN pretty quiet. Sometimes I feel like I come on when no one is here & reply to lots of things... And return the next day to read all the things everyone else was talking about while I was asleep. /laughs. The neoboards are great to instantly find a keyquest player, or someone to send you some nests on habitarium, And that way you can make some pretty good neofriends. However, the ridiculously short world limit, the word-blocker that includes "peanuts", and one small square bracket completely ruining your font, puts a bit of bad taste in my mouth. I love the neoboards, and will continue to use them, but the TDN is a godsend & far superior.
blowupthesun
The neoboards make me NERVOUS!! I try to avoid socializing as much as possible on neopets, because there's always that chance you could say something that TNT is not cool with and that's not worth risking my account over. The only thing that makes the neoboards better is the quest help, because I can ask for something and get a response in minutes and that probably wouldn't work as well on here. That's all I even use the boards for. Otherwise, I agree with everyone else, TDN is a lot more relaxed and mostly adults as far as I know. When I first signed up I'd look through the boards and not see a lot going on, but lately there have been more people and more topics being created, which I'm really liking! Avia loves Chias
i only advertise items on the neoboards. like other people have said, i'm also afraid of getting warned or silenced for saying something innocuous, so i never socialize there.
