Neoquest 1... any tips?

I've just started playing Neoquest 1 (again). I'm currently in the Jungle Ruins. Does anyone have any tips or advice about the game? I'm currently level 20 and have concentrated my skill points on Shock, Life and Spectral.

 

Any tips, hints or advice would be much appreciated! :)

I found it extremely helpful. There's a brief bit in the beginning that recommends how to spend skills and there's great walk-throughs. You may need to refer elsewhere for maps, but they're easy to come by :)

Every time I came across a map site, I saved them to my hard drive. IDNQ seems to have been offline for quite a while...

I dislike roaming aimlessly in a small grid of visibility, others may like it, but it's not my preference of game style.

here is a pet page with maps. i think one is missing but you can do a web search for that one specifically when you get to it. i don't remember which one it was offhand.

thanks. The maps are very useful and I found a good walkthrough guide as well. It seems to be a game that requires a lot of mouse clicking and patience! Hope I can finish it at some point. :)

I know this is a from a few days ago, I took, have just started "re-playing". I used http://footballman.comicgenesis.com/nqmaps/walkthrough.html I think the maps are a bit easier to read here than some others. I'm about the same level but am just concentrating on maxing Life weapons right now then I'll move to Shock. Kudos to the people who can beat it in 2 hours...the perpetual clicking is super boring and I have to walk away from it every 5 minutes or so.
