I prefer natural letter combinations, like 'th', 'sh', 'ane', etc., so I play around with them until I find untaken names. I like the long 'e' sound at the end of names so I try a lot of things that end in 'e', 'i', 'ie' or 'y' - without much luck though. Of the pets I have that I named myself, Taphie is probably my favourite. No meaning behind it, I just thought the letters came together nicely and it sounded adorable, perfect for the plushie she now is. I also have Pashun (which I thought sounded like 'passion') and Jidion (which reminds me of Gideon from Criminal Minds since it rhymes), but neither of those are the reason I picked the names. Ultimately, I try and put together something that I can see myself not growing tired of. I don't want to create a pet, sink a ton of NP into training and reading to it, etc., just to get sick of the name. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(It matches my equally sweet-tooth-esque username, blueberrymuffinpops) All other pets I've ever had were for my avatar adoption agency, and were trades. I can't ever imagine having another pet 'seriously', so I might never name a pet again, but if I do, I'll probably not pay too much attention to whether it is well named or not. This pet used to be a scorchio, referencing back to those days. indt17 - who knows? i think indt was a sound one of my grundos made once and i named it thusly. a few transformations and boom a royal grarrl. dellicinhaa - just recieved the pet so not my choosing. Kylar17 - Character from the Night Angel trilogy. Blumario17 - pretty easy to guess...
