Where did you get your neopet names?

Wasykin_new - Ah. I'm not too sure why I picked Wasykin-- it didn't start of as a "Quiggle" name. Wasykin is a lot like Fluffykins; I just changed it a little. It's more of a cutesy name-- take out the kin and you've got Wasy, which is his actual name. The new part came along with the new account after being frozen (ugh). My new account was newcava, so Wasykin (formerly Wasykin3?) was now Wasykin_new.

 

Abbsiee- I actually adopted this little one when she was a red Mynci. Bochi got to her, eh heh. I have no idea where Abbsiee comes from. I like to call her Abby sometimes though.

 

Gloomyana- I wanted to make a pet page for those who were feeling down/in a gloomy mood. :U I took the word 'gloomy' and slapped 'ana' onto the end. I ended up getting rid of the page and made Gloomy's personality to be... well, she always looks on the dark side of things, bringing a bit of gloom into all she comes into contact with. Little did I know, there was a character named Pollyanna who is pretty much the opposite of that. OO:

 

Narutocava- Ugh... just, ugh. Narutocava was actually a name I went by for like... a day. My Xweetok did not avoid the infection. It's... just what my usual username was back then with Naruto slapped on the front. Not sure why I did that.

 

Rahzy- Easy. I have a character named Rahz and his parents (and older sister) call him Rahzy. Rahz was just a name I made up. People say it like "razz" for some reason, but it's more like Ross with a hard z instead of a s. There are actual people named Rahz though! I had no idea!

 

Tillymel- Mn. I'm planning a little comic for the Neopian Times and the main character (a Lenny) is named Tillymel. ouo

 

amma_ - Uh, I don't know. I adopted him.

9_Ginger_9: I wanted to name her Ginger, but that was obviously taken, so I added 9_ to each side because I used to be really super excited about making sure EVERYTHING WAS REALLY REALLY SYMMETRICAL (which I'm not quite as obsessed about now), and I liked 9s at the time. :/ Not sure I like the name so much now, but I can't pound her because she was one of my first pets.

 

9_Blue_Sky_9: Same!

 

Nyssaceae: I figured scientific names wouldn't be quite as commonly used, so there'd be some avaiable, and I like taxonomic names like that. Plus, I was sort of named after Nyssaceae :)

 

Axodine: Same as above. Axodine is a class of algae.

 

My other two pets, Ibusis and retaku were adopted.

I've been working toward a whole Scott Pilgrim theme with my pets (and, to an extent, my account in general):

 

Neil_Nordegraf: Named after "Young" Neil, a pseudo-member of the band.

Michael_Comeau: Named for Comeau, the guy who knows everybody (including you).

 

Even my petpets are SP themed, I already have Lynette Guycott (the drummer for Clash at Demonhead) as Comeau's petpet, and I'm deciding what to name Neil's Mibblie when I finally attach it.

Man, you guys have interesting pet names~ :)

I have embarrassingly shallow reasons for choosing my neopets' names, and considering I named some of them six years ago, well, you know how it is. (:

 

Pets on my main:

o0_KyoN_0o - I only have a vague recollection on why I named her this. And she's even my main, main pet. :S I think I was on a Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya marathon around that time, so I named her after Kyon. Obviously, the simple name was already taken, hence the formatting. :p

Lutaricca - I wanted a Lutari, and the name's just a play on the pet's species.

Repptart - She's originally a Grarrl, so her name's a reference to Reptar, from Rugrats. She got zapped into a Moehog, though. :(

 

Pets on my sides:

Akatorimono - Oh god, this is embarrassing. I was studying Japanese, see, and he's a red Pteri, so his name is literally Red Bird Thing. :nerd:

Kyonpachi - I think this is my first side account pet? So his name is a play on my main pet's name. Also, a play on Kenpachi, from Bleach. At least, that's what I believe I was thinking when I created him.

Uri_Tempesta - She's a reference to Gokudera's box animal, Uri, from KHR. Tempesta is Italian for storm, which is his flame attribute. Ahhhh basically, this pet is a tribute to Gokudera. :wub_anim:

oO0_RyuU_0Oo - Wow, what a name. :whaa: It literally means dragon in Japanese, and well, she's a Shoyru, so. And obviously the simple name's already taken.

_Kii_kun_ - Okay, I cannot for the life of me remember what this refers to. Why'd I name him like that? A quick check in my Japanese dictionary reveals that kii means "strange", so. IDK.

Zapplebomb - Ah, my lab rat. I made her specifically to be zapped, so it's a play on that word. I'm quite fond of this name, actually. :)

Lennixicon - A play on the pet's species, Lenny, and lexicon. IDK why that second word popped into my head while naming him.

Tuskorg - He's a Tuskaninny. Go figure.

kirouchan - I adopted this pet when I stumbled upon her while pound surfing. Her name is probably a reference to an anime character, but I've never heard of that name. A cursory Japanese dict search reveals that kirou can mean either "crude Japan wax" or "old person thrown away in the mountains". Considering I found her in the pound, I'd say the latter definition is rather apt. :D

Well on my main account I have
- Syrena, named after siren, which is another word for mermaid because I think Peophins are basically Kelpies/Horse mermaids.
- Gabriella was named after the Arch Angel Gabriel because Uni's just have that celestial quality to me.
- Feline got her name because she reminds me of a kitty.
- Gryphon is another way of spelling Griffin, and let's face it that's what Eyries are.

They all have the last name "pegasi/pegassi" which is the plural of Pegasus, because they all have wings.

- Chela_Hunt
- Ani_Hunt are all characters from my favourite series "Wicked Lovely". They are Hounds, a canine sort of Fae and they are absolutely fierce and feral and yet family is so important to them. A pack of Hounds is called a Hunt, hence the last name.

JTFG = Jasper the Friendly Ghoul, which is sort of self explanatory.

My other pets I adopted so I didn't have any say in the name :)

nemo1128112659282 - Nemo is the name of a Nightwish song, all the numbers were generated by Neopets.

 

Set_Abominae - Is the name of one of my favourite bands (Iced Earth) mascot, I have tried to recreate his image with my Hissi too.

 

Bruce0313 - Well my Bruce is a Bruce, but I kept the name because my dog who was recently put to sleep last year was called Bruce, again the numbers were generated by Neopets

Dark and mysterious- I liked the description.

Dromigjen- Used an online translator for "dream again" and I chose the Norsk translation but it doesn't have the accent mark for the letter "o".

 

Sevdah- I watched a show that featured a girl named Sevda and I thought it was a pretty name. The name was already taken on Neo so I added the "h".

 

Pounded

Saenric- Combination of Senna + Maeric, characters from a book.

Androsere- Combination of Andros + Sere (a nickname I like for the name Serena)

Kyo_lover123 is mine I am a huge fan of fruits basket (anime, manga) and so I names him after one of the characters.

 

I wish we can rename the ones we adopted
