blaisezabini
Hello and welcome, everybody! The final round is halfway over and the matches only get more intense from here on out. This is Matt with my co-anchor Katie, who has returned! Apparently she hasn't found Austin yet, but we'll keep on looking for him. There's only a few more days until the Cup ends so let's hope he returns soon. With that aside, let's get started with the results from the Alabriss bracket! The water dwellers Krawk Island and Maraqua went head to head yesterday. It was certainly an exciting match to watch! Krawk Island was able to take the early lead against Maraqua, and despite the Mermaids’ efforts to catch up, the Pirates were successful in claiming Yooyuball. The Pirates were also able to claim Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown from Maraqua, but the Mermaids weren't discouraged -- they were able to drown out the Pirates' supporters, claiming a win in Make Some Noise. It seems like Krawk Island was able to get back on their feet, and we'll see if they're able to keep it up in the final days to come!We saw Kreludor and Mystery Island face against each other, and the results were surprising! Kreludor was able to outperform the Natives in Yooyuball as expected, and the Moons were also able to claim Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. However, the Natives were able to pull off a surprising win in Make Some Noise! They're doing slightly better in this bracket than in the previous ones, but it may be too late in the competition to make a significant difference. Mystery Island is currently at fifteenth place in the overall standings. It's highly unlikely given their performance that they'll be able to pass Maraqua in their bracket, but they have to focus and make sure that Virtupets doesn't pass them and make them drop even lower in the standings. For our last matchup in this bracket we had Roo Island face off against Virtupets. It was a heated match, and the results were definitely unexpected! Roo Island was able to dominate in Yooyuball like always, but the Robots were able to catch up! It was looking like the Rooligans were going to claim Yooyuball when Keetra Deile Virtupets' forward was able to score a goal, making the score six to five in the Robots' favor! It's amazing that Virtupets was able to claim Yooyuball, since Roo Island has only previously lost to Tyrannia and Altador, the two top contenders for the Cup, and Terror Mountain. Roo Island was able to side sweep the Robots as previous teams have. These are all the results I have! Let's turn it over to Johan!Good morning, Neopia! This is Johan reporting live from in front of this green screen. I can assure you that I am not really in the middle of a Yooyuball game; it's just a projection that's behind me. It's some really neat technology.Sweeps once again dominated the day in the Minitheus Bracket, as we saw two teams get sweeps. The only team in the bracket to fall short of a sweep was Shenkuu. The Ninjas only dropped Shootout Showdown to the Magmas. With the win, Shenkuu broke their streak of three straight Yooyuball losses. Moltara, on the contrary, has not won a game in ten days. It will be interesting to see if they'll be able to end the Cup on a high note.Tyrannia pulled another dominating sweep over their unlucky opponents yesterday. Tyrannia has once again started their streak of sweeps and is now up to six in a row. The Fossils continue to dominate the Cup and are looking to finally, after so many years of slowly creeping up in the standings, win the Cup and prove they're one of the greats. Tyrannia is definitely a force to be reckoned with this year and, hopefully, for years to come.In the surprise of the day, Meridell was able to take from Darigan Citadel their second straight sweep. Meridell, after winning just one game in their previous bracket, has started this one hot. The Knights have won eleven games, while dropping just one. Darigan Citadel has been extremely inconsistent over the past eight days, having pulled away on the winning side of three sweeps, but on the losing side of five. Both teams are still in contention for a top spot and should be fun to watch down the stretch. As the Cup nears an end, we should see some very exciting Yooyuball. Many teams still have a lot to play for. Stay with us at TDN for all the coverage you need! And with that, I'll send it back to the studio. This is Johan reporting in front of a green screen, stay neat, Neopia. It's great to see that Johan has returned, and so have I! Simply put, I was relegated to another task and was unable to return in time for the daily results segment. As always, I'm your co-anchor, Katie, here live in the newsroom with Matt today to round out our brilliant report with the results of the third bracket. Two sweeps ruled the Vaeolus Bracket yesterday, with Altador and Kiko Lake taking the victories from Faerieland and the Lost Desert, respectively. Terror Mountain's steadfast Yooyuball record remained intact, and they vanquished Brightvale overall in three games. It should be noted that the Wizards gave the Chillers their first Slushie Slinger loss since late round two -- how impressive!Team Altador continues to be a force to be reckoned with, as they latch tight onto first place in the Vaeolus Bracket. The Suns battled the Faeries yesterday, in a largely uncontested match. Leading by at least a four-point margin, Altador secured wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, and Make Some Noise. However, Faerieland showed their tenacity when it came down to Shootout Showdown, keeping the game rather close between the two teams. Unfortunately, the Faeries fell 5-4 to the Suns. Faerieland's captain, Kakoni Worrill, praised their hard work in Shootout Showdown and commended their friends on the Altador team. He also mentioned that they would continue to fight until the very end, despite their disappointing position in the standings. The Faeries' positive attitude is contagious, that's for sure! The Lost Desert put up a good fight against Kiko Lake, just losing Yooyuball by a narrow 5-4 margin. The Mummies' captain, Leera Heggle, had kept the Kikos at bay until a wayward Darigan Yooyu wriggled past his graceful dive. Ultimately, the Lost Desert team was unable to reciprocate the feat by the time the clock ran out. Team Kiko Lake showed off their Slushie Slinger finesse with another victory, as well as beating their higher-seeded opponent with an admirable sweep. The Kiko's captain, "Poke" Cellers, noted that their victory against the Lost Desert was a team effort. He joked that the Darigan Yooyu that lifted them to the winning score was also part of the team effort. Regardless of the outcome, Cellers added, he was happy with this season and their excellent Slushie Slinger record.Yooyuball has remained spotless for Terror Mountain since the late second round, and their incredible transformation has raised them up to a tie for seventh place in the standings. However, Brightvale's sole victory in Slushie Slinger yesterday brought the Chillers' immaculate Slushie Slinger record to a halt by a 7-5 margin. The Wizards are no strangers to upsets, as they handed Altador their first loss in Slushie Slinger during the third round. Brightvale is currently situated underneath Terror Mountain in their bracket and eleventh place in the standings. The end is nigh, so every win and ratio margin counts towards a shift in the bracket before the final standings are made permanent. That's all we've got for bracket results today, so now let's pass it back to my co-anchor, Matt, for the games you folks should all tune in to!Thanks Johan and Katie! Now let's wrap this up with the matches to watch! The Altador Suns will be taking the Terror Mountain Chillers on today! It will be an exciting match to watch for sure. Altador seems like the stronger team, but the Chillers haven't lost a Yooyuball game since the second round, which is certainly an impressive feat! We'll see if the Chillers are able to cool Altador's streak, or if Altador will continue to sweep.Another match to watch is Lost Desert versus Brightvale. Lost Desert hasn't gotten a lot of attention, so we'll see if they can beat the Brightvale Wizards. The Mummies have only gotten one win so far in this bracket. Will they be able to upset the Wizards? Our last match to watch is between the Maraqua Mermaids and the Kreludor Moons! They've both been doing relatively well so far, but with Maraqua's recent loss against Krawk Island, will they still have what it takes to pull off some wins against Kreludor? Find out tomorrow! We're done for yesterday's results! This is Matt along with my co-anchor Katie, and our field reporter Johan signing off! We'll see you tomorrow! voteforpedro333
Ooof, LD couldn't afford that sweep to the Kikos, and we'll really have to show Brightvale our true colors if we want that third place spot we started the bracket with. Count me among the many watching the TM vs AL game, I expect a shake-up for the books!
