Hello everyone, im rather new here. As for neopets, i've been around for over 10 years. I come here for help.

 

Sadly, when my mother made my account she put in a random birthday. She passed away two years ago, and i have no hope of finding out what that birthday was. I stopped playing for about two years, and when i noticed i had no idea what the birthday could be.. i put in a ticket. I gave them gobs of information about my account which included friends, items, warnings, and even provided screenshots of emails dating back 2003. This was the reply i got:

 

"Unfortunately, it appears that you do not have a registered, original email address with this account from when it was first created. Because of this, we will not be able to confirm that you are the original owner, and I'm afraid we will not be able to assist you. We're very sorry for the inconvenience."

 

At first i was very confused. The email i provided was what i used to sign up with. Today i am still unsure, i'm assuming within those 10 years i went and somehow changed my original email address to another, possibly newer email. Is this possible? I dont remember.

 

Regardless, i have spent atleast 8 years constantly playing this game (about 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week). Just because i do not have the original email on my account for when it was first created.. means i cant have my account back? This is outrageous. For all the time, and money, spent on this game because of a new policy i am unable to retrieve my account. All because i somehow changed my email to a different one when i was playing.

I'm really sorry to hear about your account. I think most people have lost at least one account for a reason or another such as losing the email, losing the password, being scammed, being frozen, etc... Unfortunately, the only thing you can really do is to start over and make your new account better. Petitions never have any kind of impact on Neopets. They have been tried and tried and tried. They just never work, else every time someone would be upset and made a petition, TNT would have to listen and do an exception for a person.

 

Again, I am sorry for what has happened to you. If you need hints or tips to start over, you can be sure that our website and our community will be more than happy to help you!

I know it will most likely not help, i've since put in a second ticket with a little bit more info. I'm hoping they will eventually break down and give me the birthday.

 

I still dont understand what they mean about the email, and if there is anyway that could get fixed. It seems unreasonable.

 

This means that at any time, if you go here:

http://www.neopets.com/email_change.phtml

 

And change your email, and then somehow forget your birthday, you are out of luck. You'd think they would put a warning on that page then. Or even not allow it at all.

I dont even remember changing my email. This is what is upsetting me the most.

I'm really sorry to hear about your account. I agree with Xepha, a petition will most likely not get you anywhere unfortunatley. I hope you are able to start over on a new account (if you haven't already) and slowly but surely work your way back up. Best of luck to you!
