Scratchcard Querie

So I always play the Scratchcards, Lost Desert being my favourite - it has a great interface, and usually I get a pretty common scratchcard and rarely win anything over a small sum of neopoints or a Sand Snowball ...

But today I got the second most rare scratchcard, and when I went to see it's value - in the shop wizard, as opposed to maybe 300nps for a common one, it was 64,000nps.

Is this just because the actual item is rarer, or is this because I would be more likely to receive a good prize?

I tried searching this, but didn`t get an answer, I`d be very glad if someone was able to help me on this one. If by selling it, I`m risking losing a Lost Desert Paint Brush, I`d like to know. :P

Ok, well to answer your question simply - scratchcards that cost more have a chance of giving out better prizes. TDN's Scratchcard guide will show you all the potential prizes that each scratchcard can give. For example, a Scorched Treasure Scratchcard (~500NP) will only have a potential of giving out 5k NP maximum, but a Bagguss Bonanza Scratchcard (~30k) has the potential to give you a Lost Desert Paint Brush, which is why the price is significantly higher :).

I usually sell the rarer scratchcards since it's a guaranteed profit, but that's definitely not as exciting.

Both! You're more likely to get cheaper scratchcards when you buy them, so less of the better scratchcards are out there, and they give out better prizes.

Either way you go, that's a win! Congratulations on getting a good one - I don't go very often, I kind of got out of that habit, but I have rarely gotten a good prize/card. It'd be awesome if you did get a paint brush off of it!

Ahh, thank you all so much for clarifying this for me. I think due to my financial circumstances I`ll sell it - the definite neopoints is better for me right now than a risk - but when I have a wee bit more, who knows, I might buy a few back and try my luck.
