SuperAttackPea Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 got the bg. My 4th lump of sand and 4th bg :( http://www.neopets.com/~aphendra says there is 0.5% of getting a pde and 0.5% chance of getting of getting pkmp. So far I had the shore for over 10 months and I have gotten neither, am I just unlucky or is the petpage wrong? Quote
idriya Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 According to that petpage, you only have a 1% chance of getting the BG, and you've gotten it four times. Clearly, you must have some luck. :P No, you're not unlucky, but 0.5% odds are very, very low. You could try for another year and not get one. It's just random. Quote
Dinosawr Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 As iridya said, the odds of getting one of the two super rare prizes is extremely low. I too have had the forgotten shore for abt 10 months, the best Ive gotten is a discovered treasure chest. Quote
Novelista Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I gave up on the forgotten shore...I didn't think there was a point anymore. Quote
Finn the Human Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I never even got a BG, so you must be lucky. The best i got was the avatar. Quote
Dinosawr Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I gave up on the forgotten shore...I didn't think there was a point anymore. No, theres still a point, I can get 2000 or 5000 np around 50% of the time More often than not you can get stuff from the shore Quote
pchau123 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Mmmm it's still worth it if you want a few k. Of course it would be hard to get the rare items :3. Quote
andaraen Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I gave up on the forgotten shore...I didn't think there was a point anymore. It takes very little NPs to unlock it and takes almost no effort to visit with a possibility of huge rewards. I'd say it's worth it. :P hrtbrk 1 Quote

I've gotten nothing at all the past week, but I figure a small chance to get something big is better than no chance at all. Quote
cherryv Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 ah.. the forgotten shore. one of my most hated dailies I think. But I never give up on it, unless until I get the avatar... you can never know :/ Quote
rojo Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I say go for it, even if the present yields (or none at all as what I've gotten haha) aren't satisfying. It doesn't take that long to check a page and close it if it's empty. A daily that can possibly give you rare items is a daily worth a click. Quote
Nataluna Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 basically its free :P and its not hard to add to my dailies, so i do it. i have managed to get the background once, and i also have gotten the avatar, still waiting on a draik egg etc but i'm patient. :D it took alot more effort and caused alot more frustration with the Skarl avatar :P Quote
youngrace Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 the lump of sand has to be on the right side to get a pkmp, draik egg, or avatar unfortunately. :( the lump of sand on the left side only gives the background, from my experience. and yes, it's deffo frustrating! Quote

I thought the lump of sand can only appear on the right side? Quote
Jezebel Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I get Neopoints from it about 2-3 times a week. And it's anywhere from 5,000-10,000 a week. I'm not complaining. And the possibility of finding an item worth millions is nice, too. Quote

But it is literally a one-click daily with better prizes than most, which is really nice. :O Quote
Novelista Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 This is probably the part where I should stop and point out that my account was frozen between 2:30a EST and 1:30p this afternoon. Ergo, I no longer have access to the Forgotten Shore and have to begin the arduous process of recouping everything I lost. Since TFS infrequently gives out neopoints and I would have to "spend money to make money" in this case, it's definitely not worth it anymore. Quote

Why was your account frozen? Quote

I luff you? :D You should probably create a new account and start over. Oh, I have my side account...I just never "tricked it out". (Do people even say that anymore?) Why was your account frozen? Let's just say I know exacly what I did and I'm unwilling to discuss it and leave it at that. O.o Quote
Raichi Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I don't remember getting the background, I mostly got necklaces and stuff and np's or nothing at all, and this once I got a draik egg I was all WHAAA. xD Quote

The bg is less than 1k nps. You must have been really lucky. Quote
