Lauren_x Posted February 7, 2012 Share Posted February 7, 2012 So on a random impulse I decided to buy the secret lab map set for one of my sides as I wanted to zap Daisus and Iylsette cos I think they're cool names ;) I cheerfully go out and buy the 5 cheapest pieces, make some offeres on the other 3 and off I toddle to the TP only to find....piece #1 is going for 750k-1mil!?!?! What is this madness? So I thought pffft not spending that much and sold back the pieces I'd just bought. I just went ahead and blew all the NP i'd been saving up. :D there was NO way I was going to try selling the other 7 pieces after spending the time trying to find which were the cheapest! Arghh. Oh well. Nataluna Posted February 8, 2012 Share Posted February 8, 2012 the pricing is so weird on them now, when i got mine, most pieces were about the same price, now some are really cheap, like 12k and others are 800k o.0 i have the lab map on a side account which i've lost the password to and can't remember the email.. it had the best luck with the lab ray.. maraquan aisha and faerie ixi.. bah. TNT most unhelpful. i'm guessing the prices have to do with the chances of it being "found" like how lu codestones are more expensive than others, fingers crossed the ratio gets changed :P i want a second lab map again Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think the part of me that watches my mother bank erases all recollections of big spending from my brain so I won't do it as much X3 But it's probably got something to do with christmas, and lack of give aways. Rune Valentine Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Actually, before the giveaway last year, the price of an entire SLM would have been about the same, albeit the pieces having a sort of evened-out price (roughly 200k/piece minus the free pieces from Tarla at the time). When I came back to Neo in 2008, a full set cost me about 900k, which isn't a far off stretch to the ~1.2mil it costs now. The rise in price is only due to the fact that a lot of the other pieces (3,4,7 and 9) are all under 30k from Tarla giveaways and last year's lab map event. Just so happens that piece #1 happens to be the "rarest" and least distributed at the moment, so the price has shot up. SunnyNeo has graphs and logs if you're really curious to see price fluctuations of lab map pieces here. Basic supply and demand, really. So you only really have economics to blame for this :P Auction sniping is your best bet at getting around this though. I usually manage to get map pieces under 100k.
