GlitteryCupcake
I've heard the ticket system is flawed and takes forever. I ask because for the first time ever, I'm having trouble logging into my account. I'm worried this has something to do with the fact that I checked my account on my smart phone last night. Could that make it more vulnerable? I checked my pets and my shop from a side account, and they both appear to be untouched. I'm still freaking out though. I even changed my password recently too, and Neopets is the only site I use that password on. What should I do? Edit: I still submitted a ticket though, under Password/Account Access. 2nd Edit: Update! It's been about 36 hours since I've been able to log into my account, but on my user look-up, it says I was last spotted "one day ago." I was terrified it would say "under a day ago." LAST UPDATE: I tried the copy and paste technique that leedom suggested with several different passwords, and it worked! I'm back in! Hoo-yeah! Thanks again to everyone who made me feel better when I was so worried. :)
Saxen
What do you mean by 'having trouble', is it just not accepting your password? Perhaps try clicking the forgot password thingy to get the e-mail. You say you changed your password recently, are you sure you're entering the right one? You say you changed your password recently, are you sure you're entering the right one? By having trouble I mean being told I'm using an invalid password. I did get my password sent to my email, but I believe the email associated with my account is a de-activated AOL email.Unless my short-term memory is just terrible (not ruling that out, hah) I am definitely entering the right password. I used it just last night.
Xepha
TNT only replies to tickets... therefore, that's the best way to contact them even if it's slow and not always successful.

Well, I guess that's all I can do then. Thank you. I'm really hoping this is just some idiotic mistake of mine. If my account was compromised, my shop would probably be empty or something, right? Gahh.
Saxen
D: If your old e-mail is deactivated you could try re-creating it? That worked for me with my current main; though I don't know how AOL works :S I really hope you can get back into your account sweets! I can re-activate it, but it involves calling a phone number, and yeah...I'm just putting it off because it seems like a hassle. But now that I type it out, it sounds dumb of me to have not tried that, haha. I'll do that now. Thanks for the kind words. :)
Wolf Child
That's not necessarilly true. Sometimes crackers will use active accounts - after watching your playing habits they can typically get a good idea as to when you sleep/don't play - to move illigitimate material. The more accounts they use to move the items the less likely TNT is to pick up on it being stolen/generated/etc - and the less likely they are to locate it. I would activate your e-mail and see what you come up with - If the e-mail account is active when you hadn't activated yourself, or if the password doesn't arrive, you've likely been compromised. Ugh, I feel sick. I was also unable to activate my de-activated (actually I had canceled it) email address. I'll be watching my profile's "Last Spotted" section diligently. I don't think I had it set to show when I was online or not. I really just do not understand how this could have happened....
lilshadowdweller
I logged onto my Android last night to check out my account. (So I used a smart phone.) I had no troubles getting into my account today. And the I.P would have been different, because I was using my data, not my internet. (Which was down.) First, it's important NOT to panic. Can you remake that deleted AOL account? If so, re-make it promptly. Do not share your email with anyone. Do what you are doing already. I'm not sure the way I contacted TNT when I needed to get my stolen account back -- but I'm a bit doubtful as of now if yours was hacked. By the way, you can relax a bit if you have a PIN set up. I have pins set up EVERWHERE. If you disown/transfer my pets, there's a PIN. Withdraw Neopoints? There's a pin. Getting shop till? PIN. So you maybe OK if you have a PIN. And try to recall any suspicious websites you may have been on lately. Do you use Firefox? This browser is good for keeping away cookie grabbers. Did you visit any sketchy sites? Somehow, you seem reasonable, so I'm not as worried but I understand your worries. I know tickets take awhile but submit anyway and take a deep breath. I've had days where I couldn't log onto accounts too with what was my password. xD (Did I have a tumour? No idea.)
Wolf Child
It's not necessarilly your fault, hun. Just hang tight and see if you can't get in touch with neopets. Relax... more than anything - remember, it's just a game. It can't hurt you if it's just pixels, and the most important thing is that you still have your friends. :) Neopets typically acts very quickly - When Munsterpoo and Garet_Jaxx were hacked over the past few days they stalled the accounts pretty quickly - though you'll notice they're still frozen, it may take time for TNT to pause and reconsolidate your account. Your pin will not protect your account from an actual cracker. If you gave your password to someone you thought was trustworthy it'd work just fine, but the people who actually break into accounts have no issues with pins. All you can do right now is get in touch with TNT and take a breather. It's going to be okay. Even if you lose some items/gold your pets are going to be safe - TNT has been /really/ good about reclaiming lost pets especially.
lilshadowdweller
Yes, but I have such a hard time seeing why someone would crack into someone's account. If you have such skill, why waste your time with Neopets? -_-;; And what's all of this you're now mentioning!? I had no idea there was a cracker on the loose. o_0!!! I do have PINs set up, and I use Firefox. Can't think of a single sketchy site either... As far as the old account, my only option is re-activating it. I contacted AOL support or whatever, and even though I was able to answer all of the security questions, they wouldn't activate it for me because I apparently gave the wrong name. It was incredibly frustrating. I'm pretty sure the account might be under my dad's name, since I made it when I was little, but giving his name didn't work since I had already given them a different name. It was pretty stupid. I may call back in a man's voice or something, haha. It's not necessarilly your fault, hun. Just hang tight and see if you can't get in touch with neopets. That makes me feel more reassured, thank you very much. I do feel silly for freaking out over an online game, but man, I've had that thing for 7 years! lilshadowdweller
Don't feel silly. She was just trying to relax you since feeling anxious about something is very stressful. If there is a cracker (PINS are, like she said, good for people who just get onto other's account), I'd hope they wouldn't know about your account in general. I know how stressed out I would be too. I wish TNT would let us knows when these guys are around. -.-' They never want to admit it. I understand it's sentimental value and even if the worst did happen, we'd all be here for you regardless and TNT would give you your pets back. Now it's just a waiting game. Let's hope TNT gets back to you promptly.

My main was 11 years old! xD' ((Basically I was looking for 'cheats' - the kinds you use in neopets games like the snowmuncher 'burp' and such - and uncovered much of the hacking scene. I stupidly posted it on the main forums and now Neopets continues to claim that I was attempting to scam other members - but that was never my intent.)) It's gonna be good. You're gonna be fine. :)

leedom111
Oh man, that's terrible! :( I would hope that you were not hacked, and if all your things appear to be in order, you might not have been. I had this thing a while ago where I absolutely was entering the right password and it wouldn't take it. I even had the password sent and it was the same. Eventually I typed the password out in a document and copy-pasted it and that worked. Still don't know what was up. Have you tried entering some other passwords? Since you recently changed it, maybe it was actually something else, or the change didn't take or something. Good luck getting this cleared up, and i hope TNT replies to your ticket. I have had success in the past with tickets; hopefully you will too. I guess that when you get your account back you should change the email asap :)
