Spritzie
I hated it. I was so worn out by the end of the day. But my HS was the original HS in the city. It had to be big to start with.
livvy
My school is much the same, with the multiple floors and unnecessarily heavy backpacks. Our English book this year weighs 7 pounds. & POUNDS!
Revenge
I don't have an English book. And the only school building with more than one floor was burnt down a month ago. <_<
Spritzie
My sister and I had trouble finding backpacks that didn't break under the weight. I cared all my text books, one binder for every two classes, a notebook for every class. And none of my classes were ever near either other. They were up, down, up down, over and over. livvy
I stopped using my locker for a while. My back started hurting really badly, so I went back to using my locker. Al of my classes are up a floor, down two, up one, up one, down two, etc.
Unstream
Wow that's ridiculous! I use my locker a lot and carry my textbooks instead of putting them into my backpack. It lightens the load to a point where it doesn't kill your back just walking to your next class. I have midterms now, which is nice, cause it's mostly like a break for me. Edit: ninja'd The post was in response to Livvy's post about the 7 pound textbook. But Revenge, how did your school burn down? o_O
Spritzie
My locker freshman year, was on the 3rd floor. The only class I had on that floor was my English class... which was right before gym... which was down a couple blocks. I just couldn't make it to my locker enough. Revenge
They're not really sure yet, still investigating, but it definitely happened in the kitchens. My homeroom was in that building too, so they moved somewhere else. I actually quit that homeroom, so I'm in a different building completely. livvy
All our freshman have lockers on the first floor. That leaves the second and third floors open for everyone else. Mine is on the third floor. It really should be on the second, since all my potential transition periods happen on the second floor.
Unstream
Wow. That would suck. My school's pretty big, but we only have one building. It just got expanded two years ago and it's already too small.
livvy
We also only have o- no, actually we have two. The ROTC building is separate. I keep forgetting about it, because it's all the way across campus, so I never see it.
Spritzie
They give the worst locker locations to the freshmans. Then you moved your way up. It was the best way they could figure it out.
livvy
Which is only fair, to be honest. Social hierarchy. You hate it as a freshman, but it seems good as you move your way up.
Spritzie
Yeah I understand that. But it wasn't all that fun. My back was killing me at the end of the day.
livvy
I have a theory that schools and chiropractors are in cahoots. :shiftyeyes_anim: I mean, why else would there be a 7 pound English book?
Spritzie
That sounds true. They probably make things that way purposefully. I hate back pain. I never had it until HS, then my car accident. <_<
livvy
Oh my! :O What happened? (In reference to the car accident.)
Captain Awesome Pants
I had a dream about high school and a car accident... Oh, anyway. What happened? :O
Spritzie
On New Years Eve, 2 years ago, I got rear-ended at a red light. I was less than a mile from home... in my new car. (New to me. I'd bought it 2 months earlier.) It was my dream car, I'd wanted it since I was 12. It's Toyota Rav4. The guy was sober. He saw the light was red, and he saw me. He told me when I got out, that he thought I was going to run it. I was like, WHAT??? It was horrible. He shattered the back window, shoved the spare tire through the back door. He nearly totalled my car.
Captain Awesome Pants
Well he's a genius. I hope he paid for all that.
livvy
No, I see his logic. Wait... *takes a closer look* Oh, nope, sorry. I don't see his logic at all.
Spritzie
He got arrested that night... he had an outstanding warrent for skipping a court date. Then a few months later, I got subpoena to testify in a criminal jury trial. It was a distaster. But I ended up not having to testify. The guy was a idiot. Captain Awesome Pants
He still paid, yes? If he didn't, I'll track him down...

Spritzie
I was so... very unhappy. I'm glad I never had to see him again. I could have ... grrr. ;) My poor car has taken more abuse than it should have had to.
