Cake versus Pie

I hate cake. My tastes lean toward the savoury side so I'm firmly for pie. Meat pie is always awesome. *homer drooling noise*

I mean think about how many times in your life you have come across a cake that you think to yourself... "I could eat this for the rest of my life"

I can't ever remember thinking that about a pie... pies are good... but there are so many cakes and so many delicious cakes out there!!!

I rarely like cake, and only in small quantities. Unless it's a cake of the cheese variety.

But pie? I love pie~

Cake is too dry and like, sticks to the back of my throat... milk helps, but I'll always prefer pie. I like the texture much more, as well as the flavors.

Before I read this, I would have said cake, hands down. But it brings up some excellent points--for example, I prefer cake in certain contexts, but if I am to eat a LOT of it, I would prefer pie. If I want to have some leftovers, pie is better because it makes an excellent breakfast. So while I still prefer cake, there are contexts in which pie is better.

You should try chocolate mousse pie. XD I can actually make it with Hershey bars, Cool Whip, and a pie crust. A professionally made one with better ingredients would probably be about five times better, and that's pretty good to start with.

If I had to choose between buying a cake and a pie at the local supermarket, I would probably get a cake, some of the low-quality pies are just horrendous. However if I got to choose between a high end (home-made perhaps) cake or pie, I would definitely choose pie. Another way to think of it is that I'm more selective with my pies because I like them more ;D

The only cake I really like is cheesecake,

so otherwise I'll have to go with pies!

I picked cake because I am not a huge fan of pie.. I don't like most of them besides banana cream pie, which I very rarely eat. So, cake for me wins hands down! :D
