Coding and Basic HTML

I'm looking to start coding and making page layouts for lookups/guilds/pets etc. but I can't find any good sites that would be basic enough to learn. Also what programs I would need on the computer. I know it'll take a while to learn but I think it'll be fun! Does anyone have any websites that would help me out? :mellow:

Izzy, one of the TDN team here, has written a very useful guide - especially because it's specifically, but not only, for ULs. It includes HTML and CSS. It's forever bookmarked on my computer. :P
