Russ
But. If a friend of mine used to play Neopets but doesn't anymore and won't again in the future, is it at all against the rules for him to send me all of his Neopoints/items? Completely voluntarily, of course, and he won't continue playing games/dailies to give me things as a second account. I can't imagine why that would be considered sketchy by TNT but you know how they roll.
Emily
Nope. That's fine. As long as he's not actually giving you the account (username and pass), it's fine
April
That should be completely fine. TNT just has problems with announced give aways. Lots of people when they leave give away their things. I am sure it will be fine. I am going to quit soon and when I do I will gift all my things to neofriends. :)
Russ
Awesome haha because he gave me half a mil already and I'm probably going to have Pack Rat within a half hour because of him :laughingsmiley:
LoveBunny
As long as the username/password isn't being given I don't think that there would be an issue.
dasavo
I didn't know that giving away your account was against the rules. what's wrong with that? Not that i've done that haha, but yeah just asking?
Russ
If person A gives their account info to person B who then takes over person A's account, but then A regrets doing this, A could hypothetically say that they were hacked by person B and person B would say "No, they gave me their info" and there'd be no way of knowing who told the truth and it'd just raise tons of issues of "he said she said" so it's safer to just ban it entirely. I assume.

I assume. This. And if the account was older users could by pass the things that you need to be a certain age to do. Like the Hidden Tower, The Attic, Pet transfers, ect. Which is in a way cheating the system.
behati
I swear I remember reading this on one of their Editorial Questions area. It said it is completely fine as long as neither users are logging into each other's account. The context was that Player A is quitting and wants to give away everything to friends, would it be fine for Player B to accept everything? and the answer was yes as long as Player A does not expect anything in return. They suggest using the gifting feature so you wouldn't have to log into each other's accounts.
Sweetdang
Oh, I see. So you can only do that if you're a serperate person, but not from your side accounts? How does TNT tell if you're cheating from sides, then?

How does TNT tell if you're cheating from sides, then? IP address, more likely than not. You have a unique IP address. All of your accounts should be logging in using the same IP Address. So if you try to cheat on your side account by playing games, TNT looks at the IP Address and says, "Ah, look, those accounts share the same address! They must be owned by the same person, so let's freeze them for cheating!"

Sweetdang
Understandable. What if, though, they both send in and agreement to TNT and one person transfers it to the other through TNT?

How does TNT tell if you're cheating from sides, then? They can't because this rule also applies to those who use net cafes and family members. If you get caught though, it's a valid reason to be banned though I'm sure if neopets really hates you they will just make up a rule to ban you on. (this rule didn't exist before nor all these other stupid rules)
