Tank Girl Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Ahhh I've been waiting for this!!!! So excited :D EDIT: What sort of time NST would you be looking for people for?
Spritzie Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I know we're currently looking for non-US type time zones, but I'm not sure if there's any specific range other than that. I'm sure Anime will give a more specific answer when she comes by here. :)
Anime Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 European time zones, mainly. The other English-speaking chunks of timezone are covered fairly well. This isn't a requirement though, I'm still happy to consider people in the rest of the world. :D
Ian Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 Yup! Time zones are taken into consideration, but if you've got a good app... please submit :D
Tank Girl Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I'm UK based so yay ^_^ Thanks guys, hope you enjoy reading my application ;)
Ruka Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Just asking, but do you guys have a specific time on when you should be online or something? And the duration? ^_^ P.S Do you accept Asian time zones? I'm kinda thinking of applying. ^_^
Anime Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 When it comes to modding, there's not so much a specific time as just being on whenever you can, checking the forums every so often even if you're doing something else. It's a constant thing, but as a general rule if you just refresh the forums, check for reports, and take a quick look at the latest topics, you should be able to keep on top of most things. We accept all time zones. We love staff diversity. :D
Piticent Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Quick Q - Am I allowed to apply for Content AND mod? Or do I have to choose one?
Anime Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 You are certainly free to apply for both, but as a new staffer you'd have to select one to join as should you be deemed worthy of both.
Piticent Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 OK :3 (Does that mean when I'm more experienced, I could do both?)
Anime Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 There are a few select staffers with extra mod powers for emergencies. If you become staff, it is possible but not exactly common.
Piticent Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Mhmm..I see :D Thanks! I just sent my app =D *crosses fingers*
Marabot 108 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Good luck to everyone who applies, being a staff member is a great experience, except of course for the seemingly unrelated accedents that occur and you se a little pink fluff ball out of the corner of your eye and oyu know you've been betrayed or spied on :( ANYWAYS, yeah, good luck, I'm recovering from an injury and should be back to writing content and emergency news soon!
tyxl Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Sounds good. I'll see if I can get 100 posts in some time to submit an application, I'd love to help around here.
Piticent Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Now, if I remember correctly, the response time is anywhere up to a week?
Anime Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 A week or two. I've only gotten 4 apps thus far so I'm waiting a little longer before making a solid decision.
Piticent Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 OK! I didn't realize there were only 4other people that applied x_x At least I haven't been rejected! ^_^
rachiee Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I am considering applying to be a mod, but I was rejected for content just about a week ago and told to apply again in 3-6 months. Is that only for content, or could I apply for a mod position in the meantime?
Anime Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 That's only for content. We hire based on a different set of criteria for each department. Feel free to apply.
DarkPaladin432 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Out of curiosity... Is this an apply and work for free because you love Neopets or is it an actual job that pays? I have never seen a posting like this and it caught my attention. I do not meet the requirements anyways. lol
Anime Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 All TDN staff volunteer to help and dedicate their time and effort for free.
Xepha Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 All TDN staff volunteer to help and dedicate their time and effort for free. It's still something you can put on your resumé under the "volunteering" category though :P. If you dare having a reference about Neopets on it when you go to an interview, that's it. :P But I used my experience at tdn in a application letter for university last year, and I was accepted so I guess it does count in the end. ;) Rebecca~ 1
Ruka Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I finally sent in my first app! Phew! It really took me a lot of time! I hope it's all right! ^_^

I have mine on my resume as a work experience (volunteer), and the lady who looked it over for me was just gushing over the job skills I've learned here. xD
