How Do I Add Images To My NT Article ?

Recommended Posts

So , I just finished writing my first NT article ... it's a list of things , and I want to add images of these things to the article to make it a bit more colorful , just like this one

http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=517019&issue=499

... so how do I do that ? do I just add the image URL ?? or what ?

Also , do I have to HTML format it ???

I've been wondering this too, especially if we format our articles with HTML tags as well? Such as bold, italic, and underline. If so, I assume we can just use <img src =""> tags

^That, but instead of using <>, use [] instead; according to the editor, if you use <>, it doesn't show up on their end (I know that from experience - Squid Farm was meant to have a few words in italics, but it didn't come up so the italics didnt go in)

So we use HTML with square brackets? that's kinda odd. Should we do

[img= ]

instead of <img src> then?

I guess ... to quote Droplet from NTWF (Neopian Times' Writer Forum) regarding this issue:

Did you use < > or [ ]? Unfortunately the first set of tags are removed when submissions are entered, so if you want to include italics, please add them with square tags. I've updated the tags in this story; they will show up with the news today.

Huh, I guess they go in and manually edit the styles? I imagine that'd be a bit time consuming, but then, the NT is usually better quality than the rest of the site :laughingsmiley:

Thanks so much for the help! :D

xD no problem.

I agree with you there, the NT is quite quality-heavy; I had written, like, four or five pieces before Squid Farm, and they all got rejected. Not to mention that apparently, rarely anybody gets their article/comic/story/series in without it being held over first nowadays. As of now, I've got a series being held over, and another short story still in the queue.
