Piticent
Hello everybody! Just yesterday as a B-day present, I got DVDs of both Tron movies. I recently learned DVDs to iTunes is rather impossible. It also seems to be impossible to just copy it to my iPod, as it's protected...is there a single way I can get it on my iPod without (1) paying, or (2) breaking the law?? antiaircraft
It's possible without paying (with well written, very reliable, and very powerful software too), but definitely not without breaking the law. :( Unfortunately today's screwed up legal system is of the opinion that when you buy a CD, DVD, digital download, etc. from a large music or film company, you don't own the stuff you bought at all, the only thing you purchased was the right to listen to/watch it. Once. And maybe a few more times. But only until the company decides to sue you for more money than there actually is in the world economy. Piticent
Wow. Well, i guess thats life. I never thought of it that way. I wouldnt blame the companies though with all the piracy taking place. I guess i should have just bought them on itunes.
antiaircraft
Heh, yeah, that's life. :( But I do blame the companies. :P Piracy is nowhere near as serious an issue as they try to make it sound. They only have one interest: snatching the rights to art from the artists that make it, then extorting every last cent they can out of it. groovyjenny
Nowadays, when I buy DVDs from the store, I get the DVD/BlueRay/Digital Copy all in one. :3 It may be a bit more expensive, but with the digital copy, you can take it on your iPod/iPad/iPhone and watch it wherever you please :3 Plus, it helps that I have a PS3 which can play the BlueRay copy. I usually give my grandma or a relative my DVD copy, since I really don't need it since I have a BlueRay and Digital Copy!

groovyjenny
 Oh whoops! I guess I didn't see that you got that as a gift. Hmm, well then there really isn't much you can do to legally get it on your iTunes. Apple is pretty rigid about copyright issues. I was trying to make a DVD of television shows I had bought from the store, but I couldn't <_< So, guess you can tell everyone if they're going to get you movies, to either get it on iTunes and gift it to you or buy the combo pack
