Gift or Trade are both save to transfer something from your main.

 

If you want to try your luck at getting the trophy (TODAY) and potentionally get a paint brush, use it. Otherwise, sell it and you are sure to make a profit :P

If I was you, I'd sell it since you already have the avatar. I highly doubt I would get a trophy or PB, so I'd rather have the NP.
