But you have spammed before, and I can prove that. And I could also claim you're off-topic constantly, but I'm not using a whole post to do that am I? I didn't think so.

TDN actively disallows SPAM. A "spammy" post would include one or more of the following:

Okay, I really need to correct you all.

It is not 'He is going to be hung' or 'he deserve to be hung'. The correct term is 'hanged'. Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine.

I'm on the fence about the Death Penalty here in America, probably always will be. I don't think people should sit in jail for the rest of their lives, eating up our tax dollars, getting 3 meals a day, a hot shower, room and board, exercise, etc. when there are millions of people in America who don't even get that. We treat our murderers better than our own law abiding citizens.

In terms of Saddam, I don't know. I've heard conservatives say they want revenge; but I'm certain Saddam didn't mass murder your people, it was the Iraqi's. Revenge is not something the "Bible" teaches (which most conservatives get their "politics" from), it more so taught 'an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind'.

He deserve to pay for the utterly horrible things he's done. If he is hanged, it is rumored that it will be video taped and I believe they should show it. At least to the Iraqi people. Why? Because all these 'insurgents' (not terrorists) show the beheading of our own citizens, why not show the hanging of their 'beloved' leader? Only fair, eh?

China still has firing squads and stuff....ugh...the cruel Motherland..

Texas also has a method of execution being death by firing squad.

I'd just like to point out I actually laughed out loud at whoever said he was in charge of the Taliban. One; he's NOT, and two; he's been in custody for over a year...you think he's been able to control anyone there?

Saddam Hussein was sent to the gallows last night at 6am local time - 2.30am British time - at a secure facility in northern Baghdad. He was described as 'submissive' and 'quiet'. He held a copy of the Qu'ran, which he held at the last second and requested it was handed to a friend. He opted to die without a hood over him, and the procedure took just a few minutes. His walk from the cell to the gallows was filmed and released on Iraqi state television, and is now on most news channels worldwide, but the execution itself has yet to be broadcast. There were celebrations in the streets of Sadr City, whilst in Kufa 31 are killed in a car bomb and four US personnel have died in combat. [source]

So there's some facts for you =]

KEEP THIS DEBATE CALM.

Well I think that I'm not a sick enough person to want to see someone's death tape. Even if they were as evil as him. I don't want to witness someone dying my whole life. Just because they witness something doesn't mean it's okay for America to do it. Just because someone kills someone doesn't mean it's fine for you to do it. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION! PLEASE DON'T HURT ME! *Falls to the ground and shields self with hands*

If your sword breaks, you draw your dagger.

If Saddam is dead, that won't stop the other Taliban, Osama Bin Laden or Hezbollah from doing what they are doing.

But if Tony, Bush and the president of Iran/iraq met, that might end the war.

I agree with you partially Mira. I don't like death, but death is natural and must come to all. It's just a shame that we have to kill people instead of letting them be in solitary confinement.

EDIT: Just found info backs up my point

I know it may seem trivial but it bothers me that he was executed on the same day my best friend died 2 years ago. o_x

In one of the videos on CNN of Saddam's dead body wrapped in a white shroud, taken on a cell phone, apparently they're standing beside a car because as the phone moves around and shakes, you see a Toyota emblem, twice. lol

I believe as of this morning the known American death toll was at 2,999. 9/11 was 3,129 or something. Not far off.

Oh, and its reputed that around 400,000 Iraqis have died. More than Saddam killed ;)

Well I know that about 3,000 people died in 9/11. But what bugs me is our president *boo* is making it seem like everyone in Iraq is a bad person.

What? I agree that he attacks the insurgents, both Sunni and Shia alike, but has always (except for a *few* instances) encouraged and applauded their voting, government and police force.

I don't think the president is making us think that all Iraqis are bad. It is US the people who twist everything. Anyways. Saddam was already executed so there's nothing anyone can do. I've heard the execution of his half-brother and the other person were postponed?

I don't know. There seems to be conflicting reports from the Iraqi media and Iraqi officials.

...

I found this on the wiki, although there weren't any references sited

Contrary to initial reports, Saddam was executed alone, and not at the same time as his co-defendants Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, who will be executed after the Eid ul-Adha holiday.

Must be a crappy Eid for Saddam's supporters

I think the president just wants us to restore peace in the country. We are on the side of the Iraqi's for the most part.

The executions of Saddam's co-accused (Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti and Awad Hamed al-Bandar) were postponed, yes. I can't exactly remember who said it, but I remember reading that the execution of Saddam was to be a 'historic moment', hence his execution on a religious day celebrated by Muslims (the first day of Eid ul-Adha?).

only question towards his death now its happened,

what has it achieved?

the war is showing no sign of stopping, in fact its getting so bad people can't leave their house because of random shootings/kidnappings

So yes killing saddam is beneficial just for the future, but for the present, it has done nothing.

(also one thing i learnt, the actual hanginf has been placed on youtube for some reason, even though all the things he did, i actually feel sorry, i couldn't even watch teh whole thing, he had the look in his face that he knew he was dying, wasn't pleasant)
