Anonallama
(I've decided to lurk this area of the forums in hopes of maybe getting better acquainted with the 'artisans' of TDN and Neopets. xD) So, another formal introduction: My name is Anon and I've been an off and on 'artist' for now...8 years I think. XD I've mostly spent my time doodling, not seriously going all out when comes to drawing. I seem to like the old fashioned-ness of pencil and paper (while occasionally flaring it up with some color pencil). I've attempted to learn how to edit on Photoshop CS3 (and only coming up with basic skill so far, the past two months, off and on). Now, I do realize that there is a salad bar of programs for people to use, I feel, how should I say...intimidated by the technology and wonders of it all. So I prefer to stay in my comfort zone and stick to the more 'solid' items. xD;; So I guess what I am saying is: is there any other people out there that prefer to use pencil and paper like me? And can I have some commentary on some programs that are more 'user friendly' for people who don't have the mind to understand vast technology. (And for those who wish to know what I like to draw, I like: anthro's, fruits, dragons and mythical creatures, and whatever interests me at the time. lol I like experimenting with chibi's, headshots and rarely draw backgrounds unless I'm really serious about the drawing. [Lately I've been practicing how to better draw hands.]) I also apologize ahead of time if this may be a bit 'wordy' and that there may be spelling/grammar errors (and the few smilies). (I made sure to check it in Word.)
livvy
*looks up from sketch pad and places well-used coloured pencils between us* Hello Anon! I'm Livvy. Pleased to meet you. :) I too am something of an artist (kinda sorta maybe), but I haven't been at it for nearly as long as you have. Or rather, I've been floating between various forms of art. I'm currently on pixels and writing, but I do still enjoy the occasional sketch by hand. I'm not very good at it though. :P Photoshop is tough to teach yourself (I should know; I've spent the past several years trying) but if you keep at it, you should get the hang of it. =] In fact, that's where most of my pencil sketches end up for final colouring. I'd be happy to explain it a bit if you'd like. We do have a good many artists here on TDN, and a whole section just for us! I'm sure you'll enjoy poking around here a bit. :) If you go back far enough, you might even find some of the hand-drawn, PS-coloured sketches I mentioned. Well, I must get back to writing while I still have the inspiration. See you around the art forum!
